Christopher Nolan’s next movie can safely be considered one of the most anticipated of 2026, but while fans await The Odyssey, they’re checking out one of Nolan’s most underrated movies on streaming. In 2020, Nolan came out with Tenet, the sci-fi experiment starring Robert Pattinson and John David Washington that follows a CIA operative who journeys through the twilight world on a mission of international espionage that takes place outside real time. Tenet is streaming on Netflix globally, where it’s charting in the top 10 in several countries like the Netherlands and Algeria.

Tenet is also charting in the PVOD top 10 on Apple TV in countries such as Belarus and Colombia. The film is, unfortunately, not streaming anywhere in America, but it likely won’t be long before it returns to one of the big services in the States. John David Washington plays the Protagonist in the film, and Robert Pattinson plays Neil. Another star Nolan recruited for a sizable role in Tenet is Elizabeth Debicki, who is also famous for starring opposite Tom Hiddleston in the first season of The Night Manager. Jefferson Hall, Andrew Howard, and Wes Chatham can also be seen in the film.

In addition to directing Tenet, Christopher Nolan also wrote the script for the film. The sci-fi epic earned scores of 70% from critics and 76% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and it grossed $365 million at the box office against a $200 million budget. It came out during a tough time when theaters were struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which is mostly why it struggled to turn a profit at the box office.

Tenet star Robert Pattinson has also been tapped to star in Nolan’s next movie, The Odyssey, which will be released on July 17. Pattinson will play Antinous in the film, but his role isn’t expected to be as large as that of Matt Damon and Tom Holland. The duo will play the father-son pairing of Odysseus and Telemachus in the film. It also stars Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, and more. After Nolan’s Oscar-winning work with Robert Downey Jr. and Cillian Murphy on Oppenheimer, The Odyssey may be his most anticipated movie yet.

Be sure to check out Tenet on PVOD platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV, and stay tuned to Collider for more streaming updates.
