Adapting Ande Parks' Ciudad graphic novel, the Extraction franchise stars Hemsworth as a mercenary named Tyler Rake, who travels the world taking part in dangerous and shocking missions. The threequel was announced two years ago after the success of the first two films on Netflix, and is in production right now in Australia.
Deadline reports that Pierce Brosnan will appear in Extraction 3, along with Don Lee, Joe Taslim, Chi Lewis-Perry and Siena Agudong. No details have been revealed about any of their characters yet.
These new cast members join previously announced stars Hemsworth, Golshifteh Farahani and Idris Elba, who played Tyler Rake, Nik Khan and Alcott, respectively, in previous films. Hemsworth and Farahani have been with the franchise since the beginning, while Elba made his debut during Extraction 2.
Also returning for Extraction 3 is filmmaker Sam Hargrave, who directed the first two installments and helmed John Cena's upcoming film Matchbox: The Movie. David Weil is taking over screenwriting duties from Joe Russo, who will still serve as a producer with Hargrave, Hemsworth, Anthony Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Ari Costa, Michael Disco, Benjamin Grayson, Eric Gitter, Patrick Newall, Peter Schwerin, Steven V. Scavelli and Shelby Malone.
