Dick Wolf’s One Chicago franchise — comprised of “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago P.D.” — returned to NBC on Oct. 7 with a bang, ranking as NBC’s top three shows of the season thus far when accounting for seven days of viewership.
“Chicago Med” led the pack, reaching 8.8 million viewers across all platforms in seven days after its Season 12 premiere, becoming the top broadcast show of the night of Oct. 7. Among viewers age 18-49, all three One Chicago series saw improvements compared to last year’s season premiere ratings, with “Chicago Med” in particular jumping 19% in 18-49 rating from the Season 11 premiere in 2025. For “Chicago Fire,” Season 15’s demo rating was up 9% from Season 14, and for “Chicago P.D.,” Season 14 was up 3% from Season 13.
Additionally, “Chicago Med” and “Chicago Fire” outperformed their previous season premieres in streaming viewership specifically. Both total viewership and isolated 18-49 rating showed improvements on Peacock after seven days of viewing.
Dick Wolf also had a win the following night: On Oct. 8, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” returned for its 28th season, and its rating among viewers age 18-49 ticked up by 1% compared to the Season 27 premiere in 2025.
