Charlie's Angels vet Jaclyn Smith, 79, in Montecito after fleeing $20M Beverly Hills mansion amid 'tragic' fires

Jaclyn Smith was seen shopping in Montecito near Santa Barbara, California, on Sunday.

The Charlie's Angels veteran looked youthful in a beige fuzzy jacket with jeans as she wore her highlighted hair down while carrying an Hermes purse.

The Texas-born star fled to the coastal town after leaving her $20M Beverly Hills mansion amid the Los Angeles fires.

The fashion designer posted about the horrors of the fires last week as smoke continues to fill the air in the Los Angeles area making it hard to breathe.

'Too many friends have lost homes, families have lost precious mementos from their loved ones, heirlooms, books, art and the treasures that tell the story of a life. . . all gone in an instant,' wrote the Rage Of Angels actress.

'Despite this unimaginable tragedy, what remains is resilience, and the unwavering resolve of the human spirit.'

Smith also sent her 'prayers' and thanked the firefighters.

It is not known exactly where Jaclyn lives in Beverly Hills, but she may be close to UCLA, which might be evacuated if the fire jumps the 405 freeway. 

Her pal Kathy Hilton - whose daughter Paris Hilton lost her Malibu home in the fire - hit the like button. 

The Palisades Fire now spans 23,713 acres and is 14% contained, up 1% from yesterday, according to new numbers from Cal Fire this morning. 

There is still active fire within the perimeter and islands or unburned land 'can pose a threat to containment lines,' according to the 6 a.m. local time situation summary on Monday.

So far 24 people have died in the LA fires. 

Last year Smith invited fans inside her Beverly Hills mansion that she snapped up almost 25 years ago and is worth an approximated $20M these days.

The iconic actress posed in her fall fashions for her clothing brand called JS that she sells on HSN. 

The brunette beauty was making an announcement about a new appearance on her Instagram account; she was giving followers a head's up on when she will next be on the shopping network.

'Join me on HSN for the latest in fall fashion, including a lineup of gorgeous knit sweaters based on my best selling style. My sweet Tilly approved.' Tilly is her dog.

The star has owned the sprawling estate for decades - she bought the Georgian colonial property in 1991.

It has six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a huge back yard where she grows her own roses, a tennis court, and a playhouse for her granddaughter. 

Smith - who recently launched her own fragrance - is one of the most successful stars from the 1970s as she has made several movies and has also designed clothes for women since the 1980s. Her worth is reported to be $150M. 

The former Charlie's Angels actress - she played the drop-dead gorgeous private detective Kelly Garrett on the hit 1970s series - shared a look at an ensemble as she was seen at her dwelling. 

Jaclyn was Kelly Garrett on the series that aired from 1976 until 1981 and has since become an iconic, cult classic. Jaclyn was the only actress to remain on the series for all five years when the show came to a close in 1981.

Jaclyn did all 110 episodes of the show.

She is still close to her co-star Cheryl Ladd, who starred as Kris Munroe for 87 episodes, and to Kate Jackson.

But some of her costars have sadly passed. 

Farrah Fawcett, who played Jill Munroe, died in 2009 after a long battle with cancer. David who played boss John Bosley died in 1997.  

Smith has an incredible work history. 

After Charlie's Angeles, the pinup made several TV movies such as 1985's Florence Nightingale and 1988's Windmills Of The Gods.

She also got into fashion, designing clothes for K-Mart, which was unusual during that time. She has kept up the line ever since and expanded to bedding and furniture.

In 2003 she revisited Charlie's Angels by appearing in the film with Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz. And she also popped in the latest film version from director Elizabeth Banks, which was a shock bomb at the box office.

Jaclyn was seen in the training scene. 

Smith's last TV movie was Random Acts Of Christmas with Erin Cahill and Kevin McGarry.

She loves her family, her home, gardening, Tchaikovsky, baseball, Gone with the Wind, her mother's cooking – and her dogs, her website says.

A native of Houston, Texas, Jaclyn put on her first pair of dancing shoes at the age of three. She studied drama at Trinity University and she was soon in productions of Bye Bye Birdie, West Side Story, and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. 

She left Texas to pursue her dream as a dancer. While in New York, an agent believed her classic beauty made her a natural for television cameras and Smith soon came into American homes as the Breck Girl, which led to relationships with Wella Balsam and Max Factor. 

While with Max Factor she developed a new scent, Jaclyn Smith's California. Her signature scent won best mass produced fragrance the year it was launched in 1989.

Hollywood beckoned, and before long she was appearing in popular series such as McCloud, The Rookies and Switch.

In 1976 Jaclyn starred as Kelly Garrett on Charlie's Angels and was the only actor to continue with the series for its five year network run. 

Following 'Charlie's Angels' Jaclyn earned a Golden Globe nomination for her critically acclaimed portrayal of the legendary first lady in Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, one of the most highly rated telefilms of all time. 

Frequently called the 'Queen of Mini-Series', Jaclyn starred in such well received mini-series as, 'Rage of Angels', 'George Washington', 'Rage of Angels: The Story Continues', 'The Bourne Identity' and 'Family Album'. One of her favorite roles was the title character in 'Florence Nightengale'.

Notably, Jaclyn has compiled an impressive filmography of more than 50 films and TV appearances.

In 1989 Jaclyn was honored with a star on the world famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. Jaclyn co-starred in the CBS drama, 'The District' portraying DA Vanessa Cavanaugh, has appeared on episodes of 'Faith and Hope' and stared as Judge Kay Woodbury in Hallmark's production of 'Ordinary Miracles', which aired in May 2005. 

Her show stopping appearance on the 2006 Emmy telecast led Bravo TV's producers to cast Jaclyn as the celebrity host of Bravo's weekly competitive reality series, 'Shear Genius', which aired in March, 2007, and Season 2 in June 2008. 

More recently Jaclyn appeared on NBC's 'Law and Order SVU' CBS's 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation' and in Hallmark's new movie 'Bridal Waves'.

In 1985 Jaclyn entered the business world with the introduction of her collection of women's apparel and accessories for Kmart stores. 

She pioneered the concept of celebrities developing their own Brands rather than merely endorsing others. Since that time more than 100 million women have purchased clothing or accessories bearing her name. 

Jaclyn began working with one of the world's largest home textile wholesalers, Trend /Fabricut on an exclusive fabric and trimming program in February 2007.

In September 2008 Jaclyn launched her new line of bed and bath decor at Kmart and has since introduced outdoor living, home furnishings and seasonal items. 

Along with her long time friend and famed celebrity hair stylist, José Eber, Jaclyn created a new collection of hair fashions, STYLE by Jaclyn Smith in partnership with Paula Young which launched in October 2008.

In 2010 Jaclyn collaborated with her husband, Dr. Brad Allen, a renowned medical researcher, to develop a family of luxurious cleansers and moisturizers, and protective skin care products to work with her straightforward daily regimen – and to work in perfect concert with each other.

In 2022 Smith launched a new clothing line. This clothing line is now available at Nordstrom Rack and HSN.
