Chappell Roan makes surprise stage appearance at Noah Kahan's sold-out Rose Bowl show following security scandal

Chappell Roan made a surprise appearance as she took the stage at Noah Kahan's show at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

Over the weekend, Kahan brought out the Roan, 28, to perform her song California as his special guest for his show in Pasadena amid his ongoing, sold-out The Great Divide tour.

Before the duo burst into song, Roan gave a shoutout to Kahan, 29, and gushed about how he has always had her back. 

In fan-taken footage, Kahan welcomes her to the stage, and the pair share a fist bump. 

'Noah always stands up for me, seriously,' Roan, born Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, said less than half a year since her security scandal involving Jude Law's daughter. 'He's a good person, for real.' 

Then, Kahan introduced the song they would be performing and gushed about 'falling in love with her music.' 

'This is the first song I ever heard of Kayleigh's,' he said. 'And the reason I fell in love with her music.' 

The Stick Season singer added: 'I'm just really proud of her and thankful that she would come sing with me. So this is California.' 

Roan's guest appearance at Kahan's show comes five months after she was accused of sending her security guard to confront Jude Law's 11-year-old daughter.

Earlier this year in March, Law's daughter Ada and her mother Catherine Harding claimed they were left in tears after an 'aggressive' interaction with a security guard at a hotel in Sao Paulo, Brazil. 

Soccer star Jorginho Frello publicly criticized Roan on Instagram, claiming the singer called the security guard on his stepdaughter when she recognized the superstar. 

Roan later issued a public apology via video and denied she had sent anyone to confront the child. 

Later, it emerged the bodyguard who approached Ada wasn't even working for Roan and was actually looking after pop star Sabrina Carpenter.

However, the fallout from the altercation still saw Roan banned from performing at the Todo Mundo no Rio festival in Rio de Janeiro by the city's mayor Eduardo Cavaliere. 

Following the security scandal, Roan was spotted at the Coachella Music Festival in April but has otherwise maintained a low profile. 

In the wake of the scandal, critics were able to dig out an unrelated video which appeared to show how Roan has previously dealt with adoring fans.

Roan was seen signaling to her muscly henchman after she realized she was being filmed from afar.

She briefly flicked her finger to point in the direction of the fan before falling in line behind her guard.

The guard, who had a very stern look on his face, then looked up, pointed directly to the person behind the camera and appeared to call out as he strode towards them.

The footage was taken at Sydney Airport in February ahead of her appearance at Laneway Festival.

Since her rise to stardom in 2024, Roan has been outspoken about the pitfalls of fame, publicly rejecting the idea that she should accept unwanted attention.

She has had a sometimes contentious relationship with her fans, with the artist previously calling out behavior that she considered 'creepy' and 'invasive' in social media posts.
