Channel Seven has locked down social media posts related to My Kitchen Rules contestants Jane and Shane amid public backlash.
The Blue Mountains foodies have quickly become the villains of the season due to food stylist Jane's 'snobby' comments and what many viewers see as the married couple's haughty attitude towards the other contestants.
Public opinion reached fever pitch after the pair served a 'cremated' and 'mummified' pigeon dish on Monday night.
The majority of Instagram posts featuring the couple now have the comments switched off.
And Channel Seven's move to protect Shane and Jane from the wrath of viewers has not escaped the attention of Jane and Shane's critics.
'MKR turned the commenting off on their other Jane and Shane posts,' wrote one person on one of the few posts still open to public comments.

Another wrote: 'Love how they turned the comments off' while adding a crying laughing emoji.
Several were indulging in some serious schadenfreude and expressed their joy at seeing the couple, who were eliminated, crash and burn.
'Is anyone else absolutely enjoying watching this all fall apart?' asked one person, while another said: 'Best episode. Karma on a plate.'
'What an excellent episode! How I laughed and laughed as it all fell apart,' one more commented.
'THEY BURIED THEMSELVES!!! IT WAS EPIC!' someone else wrote.
One more said: 'I keep thinking about National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation turkey dinner watching those poor guests try to chew that sad pigeon. Poor pigeons gave their lives just to be cremated.'
My Kitchen Rules viewers were stunned during Monday night's episode after the team served up a 'mummified' pigeon dish.
Shane and Jane appalled their co-stars by serving up a questionable pigeon dish which left them feeling queasy.
Jane, who has developed a reputation for her fiery outspoken persona, confidently told producers that their masterstock pigeon dish would be a smash hit with co-stars.
'It looks beautiful and refined on the plate. I feel this is going to be a 10,' Jane said.

However, the cooking process didn't go as planned, and Jane admitted as she prepared the dish that she feared she had overcooked it.
'It tastes really dry! It is the complete opposite of what we wanted, it is super dry, the pigeon is mummified!' a horrified Jane admitted.
The pair were then forced to 'pivot' their plans by throwing the pigeon dish into a pressure cooker to see if it would tenderise the food.
Unfortunately, it didn't help the dish at all and a horrified Jane was forced to admit their plans had failed.
'The pressure cooker didn't do anything! The stupid bird is getting worse and worse. This is an absolute nightmare!' she complained.
Things went from bad to worse when cast members brutally slammed the meal.
'This pigeon looks like it has been in the crematorium,' one person sniped.
'Pigeon is dry, dry, dry! I did not expect this from them,' a second contestant added.
