Top 2026 Spring Hair Color Trend Predictions, According to a Celeb ColoristCourtesy of IGK

We've never been more ready for spring to bloom! While we wait through the (hopefully) last few weeks of winter, we decided to bring spring to us by bringing that exciting energy into our hair color.

Chase Kusero, celebrity colorist and co-founder of IGK Hair Care, told us all the color trends will be absolutely everywhere this spring.

Everyone is saying goodbye to cool-toned shades, soft browns, and ashy blondes. More sun means we're bringing that brightness into our hair.

Expect warm-toned colors, bright blondes, coppers, and golden pastel shades. Plus, unique color placements will be trendy this season, too—from halo highlights to blended bright face framing.

So, whether you want to experiment with your hair color this spring or you're looking to refresh at home, keep scrolling to learn more about this upcoming spring's hair color trends and shop the products to recreate them.

Plus, Kusero also gave us all the haircare tips we need to keep that color fresh during the season.

Spring Hair Color Trends To Know

"Spring is all about renewal and brightness. People are moving away from flat and ashy tones, and are looking for colors that are bright yet warm and dimensional." Kusero told E!. We're talking everything from warmer blondes and caramel browns to golden pastel colors.

For highlights, the viral color placement we'll see during spring is a softer, more blended version of the trendy "money piece" from a few years ago. Another one? Halo highlights. "A bright ring of softness around the crown and front perimeter that creates a “sun around your face” effect," he said. Keep those in mind when you're going to the salon!

IGK Color Depositing Conditioning Hair Mask

"Blondes are leaning into fresh, luminous tones that create creamy, buttery blondes," Kusero said. "Colors will have a warmer feel that reflects champagne, vanilla, and honey tones." The shade Honey Please from IGK's Color Depositing Mask is a perfect example!

dpHUE Gloss+

"This is also true for brunettes, who will be looking for warmer cocoa, toffee, and caramel hues," Kusero told E!. This semi-permanent deep conditioning treatment deposits a glossy caramel shade to refresh your color for spring.

Keracolor Color + Clenditioner

"Reds will be softer with copper tones like muted ginger, strawberry copper, and peach," Kusero said. This color-depositing cleanser will give you the perfect shade of copper that you need for spring with every wash.

Madison Reed ColorWonder Demi-Permanent

"For any client who is looking for a color that pops, we’re seeing pastels like soft lilac, peach, and rose gold highlights that provide a playful but wearable look," he said. Sparkling Rosé in Madison Reed's ColorWonder is exactly that!

How Can I Keep My Hair Color From Fading?

The key to bright and vibrant color isn't about the specific shade; it's all about the hair care maintenance and routine. From using the right wash products to heat protectants, Kusero gave us the details on how to maintain it looking fresh for the spring.

IGK More Life Color Extending Gloss Shampoo

"Reach for a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner duo like IGK’s More Life Color Extending Gloss Shampoo and Conditioner, which is designed for color protection," Kusero told E!. This gloss-infused formula features color-locking polymers that help seal cuticles and UV-protection.

Amika Hydro Rush Intense Moisture Hair Mask

"Color treatments and lighteners can dry hair. To maintain hydration, use deep conditioning masks weekly," he said. This one by Amika—with a formula of squalane, hyaluronic acid, and bio-fermented coconut water—is a favorite of many shoppers with dry and colored hair.

JVN Complete Leave-In Conditioning Mist

Kusero also recommends leave-in conditioners, which can help seal the cuticle and protect color. This conditioning mist gives you hydration, UV protection, and silicone-free softness, regardless of whether you just washed it or you're rocking your day-2 hair.

Drybar Sparkling Soda Shine Mist & UV Shield

Another useful product for Kusero that a lot of us overlook is a spray that helps prevent damage to your locks by UV rays. This one by Drybar gives you protection and glossy hair all day long.

Rizos Curls Heat Protection Multivitamin Leave-In

"For heat-styling, always spray with a product that provides thermal protection," he told us. There are plenty of products out there that'll give you exactly that, but the tropical mango scent and multivitamin smoothing formula from Rizos Curls captured our hearts.
