Casper Van Dien and Bastiano Ferrari have joined Josh Webber’s dark romantic thriller “Love Me Dead,” which will soon wrap principal photography in Los Angeles.
Starring Dove Cameron (“Descendants”) and RJ Mitte (“Breaking Bad”), “Love Me Dead” follows a young mortician named Isaac (Mitte), who feels more comfortable with the dead than with the living. An official synopsis reads, “His quiet world is shaken when he becomes infatuated with Cassi (Cameron), a magnetic waitress who draws him into a passionate relationship that quickly turns dangerous. As love spirals into obsession and bodies begin to pile up, Isaac is forced to confront how far he’s willing to go for connection and whether love can survive when it’s rooted in destruction.”
Van Dien and Ferrari are set to play detectives investigating the bloody spree.
“Love Me Dead” is written and directed by Webber, who is producing under his Webber Films banner alongside Ferrari and his Ferrari Films. The film is also produced by Mailene Carmona, Robert Robinson, Stacy Ferrari and Susan Prinz. Executive producers include Latif Abid, Mo Punjani, Mario Azevedo and Hans Gerst.
Van Dien is known for his role as Johnny Rico in the sci-fi action film “Starship Troopers.” His other credits include “Sleepy Hollow,” “Tarzan and the Lost City,” “Chasing Destiny” and “Modern Vampires.”
Ferrari has made guest appearances on the television series “The Bay” and “The Secret That Binds Us.” He also worked on the 2023 rom-com “Holiday Twist,” starring Kelly Stables, Neal McDonough and Sean Astin.
