In 2024, it was announced that Regular Show would return with a new spin-off, along with many other Cartoon Network shows, including Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and Adventure Time. Two years later, there have been few updates on the project. But recently, one of the show's main voice cast members spoke about the revival and their thoughts on returning.

Regular Show is an animated sitcom created by J.G. Quintel that aired from 2010 to 2017, with 8 seasons and 244 episodes. The show follows the lives of Mordecai and Rigby, two anthropomorphic animals who are best friends, work at the local park, and find ways to entertain themselves. Since its release, it has received numerous nominations for prestigious awards, including "Outstanding Short-format Animated Program" at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, the "International" category at the British Academy Children's Awards, and "Choice TV: Animated Show" at the Teen Choice Awards, to name a few. It was also highly praised by audiences, earning a 96% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

According to Popverse, Rigby's voice actor, William Salyers, broke his silence on a possible return to the franchise during a recent appearance at Emerald City Comic Con 2026. While he didn't confirm if he or his co-stars would reprise their roles, he stated that he "didn't want to ruin" the show's "best endings." He said:

"Theoretically, something that fans have said to me, and it echoed my own concern before I knew anything about it. I mostly didn't want to ruin what I thought was one of the best endings of a series that I had anything to do with, or not. I thought the actors ended it on a brilliant note. That was my first thought, that I hope they don't undo that. And… theoretically, they do not."

What To Watch If You Like 'Regular Show'

Regular Show was considered to be one of the best Cartoon Network titles during the network's "Renaissance Era" from 2010 to 2018. And with Cartoon Network programs finding new streaming homes due to Warner Bros. pulling content from its HBO Max library, now is the best time to catch up on your favorite titles and shows similar to Regular Show. One title that comes to mind is Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake, a 2023 spin-off of Adventure Time. Just like Modacai and Rigby, Fionna and Cake are in their late 20s, and the series showcases her mundane life. However, she yearns for excitement and adventure. This spin-off is available on HBO Max, as well as its original series.

Another show worth watching if you like Regular Show is The Amazing World of Gumball, which recently had a revival show itself called The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball. This series follows Gumball Watterson and his best friend Darwin as they engage in shenanigans at the Watterson household and in the fictional city of Elmore. This series is available on Hulu and Prime Video.

Regular Show is available to stream on Hulu. Follow Collider for more updates.
