Chris is a Senior News Writer for Collider. He can be found in an IMAX screen, with his eyes watering and his ears bleeding for his own pleasure. He joined the news team in 2022 and accidentally fell upwards into a senior position despite his best efforts.
For reasons unknown, he enjoys analyzing box office receipts, giant sharks, and has become known as the go-to man for all things Bosch, Mission: Impossible and Christopher Nolan in Collider's news division. Recently, he found himself yeehawing along to the Dutton saga on the Yellowstone Ranch.
He is proficient in sarcasm, wit, Photoshop and working unfeasibly long hours. Amongst his passions sit the likes of the history of the Walt Disney Company, the construction of theme parks, steam trains and binge-watching Gilmore Girls with a coffee that is just hot enough to scald him.
His obsession with the Apple TV+ series Silo is the subject of mockery within the Senior News channel, where his feelings about Taylor Sheridan's work are enough to make his fellow writers roll their eyes.
There’s something about a coastal murder mystery that just hits differently — sun-drenched cliffs, secrets simmering beneath the surface, and a cast of dodgy characters circling each other like ingredients in a carefully prepared dish. Well, that kind of vibe is exactly what BritBox is leaning into with its newest project. As part of Collider’s Exclusive Spring Preview, we are thrilled to reveal that A Taste for Murder will premiere on April 7, launching with two episodes before shifting to a weekly rollout. Alongside the date reveal, we can also reveal the official trailer, new images, and key art for the six-part procedural.
Produced by Eagle Eye Drama in association with ITV Studios, A Taste for Murder is set against the steep cliffs and fast tides of Capri. The twist? Each episode centers around a murder mystery woven through the world of classic Italian cuisine. The series explores how meals can create connection, community, and even make things better when we've been hit by the worst things life has to throw at us. This series is actually going to make us hungry, and we're okay with that. Buon appetito! The official synopsis is as follows:
"Set amidst the steep cliffs and fast tides of Capri, A Taste for Murder features classic Italian cuisine as the main ingredient to each episode’s central murder mystery, revealing the power of food to foster connection, community, and healing after devastating loss."
Who Stars In 'A Taste For Murder'?
Leading the cast is Warren Brown (The Responder, Trigger Point, Ten Pound Poms) alongside BAFTA winner Phyllis Logan (Downton Abbey). The ensemble also includes Cristiana Dell’Anna, Beau Gadsdon, Urbano Barberini, Alessandro Fella, Gaia Scodellaro, and Alessandro Bedetti. The series was shot on location in Croatia and Italy last year, and if the trailer is anything to go by, the Mediterranean backdrop will be part of the tension and not just (admittedly gorgeous) window dressing.
The show is created and written by Matt Baker (Patience, Professor T, Hotel Portofino), with Jon Jones (Whitstable Pearl, Alex Rider) directing all six episodes. Producing duties fall to Megan Ott (House of the Dragon). Executive producers include Jo McGrath, Walter Iuzzolino, and Carolina Giammetta for Eagle Eye Drama, and Robert Schildhouse, Stephen Nye, and Jess O’Riordan for BritBox.
A Taste for Murder will premiere on April 7 exclusively on BritBox. Check out our previews of the hottest upcoming television and film projects here, at Collider’s Exclusive Spring Preview.
