Rancho Temescal, a sprawling Southern California estate that has served as a shooting location for films starring Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, is going on the market for a lucky buyer with deep pockets.
According to the estate's listing, the property of more than 4,270 acres can be had for a mere $29 million.
The listing is being handled by Missoula, Montana-based Bill McDavid, director and real estate partner with Hall and Hall, which specializes in brokering ranches and farmland.
McDavid shares the listing with Terry Hundemer of The Chickering Company.
Rancho Temescal, which is located in Ventura County near the tiny community of Piru, is just a 45-minute drive northwest from Downtown Los Angeles, and it's only 60 miles southeast of coastal Santa Barbara.
The estate's timeless design and sprawling land have made it a popular shooting location for major motion pictures in recent decades, including Pitt's Hollywood love-letter Babylon (2022) and Cruise's 2005 sci-fi nightmare War of the Worlds.

Rancho Temescal's next buyer has the chance to get a bargain, as the property was previously listed in December 2025 for a whopping $44 million, before the asking price was reduced by $15 million.
The estate has been a popular location for films due to its varied scenic geography.
The property is located in a secluded valley that is surrounded by foothills and craggy mountains of the Topatopa Range and the Los Padres National Forest.
It also runs up to the cool blue waters of Lake Piru and the Santa Felicia Dam.
The listing notes that Rancho Temescal's scenery features 'sweeping meadows, oak-studded hills, citrus and avocado orchards, creek beds, and mountain vistas.'
It also boasts that the estate's income streams are nearly as varied as its geography.
In addition to renting out parts of the ranch to film productions, the ranch has a 350-person event venue that can be rented out to the community and is designed for the perfect rural California wedding.
Called The Corral, the party space features an upscale round pen that's primed for wedding parties, while the 'Champagne Barn' has been set up for the bride to relax while waiting for the wedding party and all of the attendees to arrive.

The hacienda includes two offices, a lounge upstairs, a room for staff members, and 18 stalls, with 13 for horses and five converted into the bride-and-groom quarters for weddings.

The land is also a source of oil and natural gas production, and Chevron has a lease to drill on 80 of the property's 4,270 acres.

Rancho Temescal has been a popular location for major film productions because it is within the famed Thirty Mile Zone (TMZ).
The zone is a thirty-mile radius centered at the intersection of Beverly Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard in LA.
Film productions can travel up to thirty miles in any direction, which would include Rancho Temescal, without having to pay higher wages or to provide increased per diem and higher travel and housing budgets.
That makes the stunning property an attractive proposition for films looking to keep budgets down while taking advantage of the eye-catching location.

Oscar winner Damien Chazelle, best known for directing La La Land and First Man, depicted the dawn of Hollywood in the mid-1920s with his epic Babylon, which starred Brad Pitt as a megastar struggling to acclimate to the death of silent pictures, while Margot Robbie played a talented starlet who struggled with the movie industry's myriad temptations.
The Vin Diesel action-thriller XXX was also shot partly on the ranch, as was the beloved crime procedural CSI, while music artists including Billie Eilish and Toby Keith have shot videos on the property.
