Alanis Morissette has bravely come out as pansexual at age 52.
The Jagged Little Pill hitmaker opened up about her sexuality during a recent episode of the Handsome podcast, which is hosted by lesbian comedians Tig Notaro and Fortune Feimster, and non-binary screenwriter Mae Martin.
After discussing Morissette's notoriously angst-ridden discography, Feimster said to the singer, 'I’m sorry for the men that hurt you, but I’m not sorry for the songs that came from it.'
She then added, 'Did it make you want to be a lesbian at any point?'
Without skipping a beat, Morissette responded, 'I'm pansexual, so yeah.'
Stunned by the revelation, Notaro said, 'Wait, you're not really pansexual, are you?'

'I am,' the mother-of-three nodded, before Martin chimed in, 'Me too!'
The term pansexual describes someone who experiences romantic, emotional, or sexual attraction to people regardless of their gender identity or biological sex.
It differs from bisexual, which means to be attracted to both male and females, as it also includes an attraction to transgender, non-binary, and other gender nonconforming identifies.
The Head Over Feet hitmaker generally keeps her relationships out of the public eye, but she's been romantically involved with multiple high-profile men over the years.
Morissette has also been extremely open about previously dealing with addictions to both love and sex.
Her relationship with Full House actor Dave Coulier famously inspired her best-selling album Jagged Little Pill.
She also dated actor Dash Mihok and attorney Tom Ballanco, and is currently married to rapper Mario 'Souleye' Treadway.
The Grammy-winning singer also dated A-lister Ryan Reynolds in 2002 and the couple were engaged for three years before calling it quits in 2007.

Reynolds then began dating Scarlett Johansson just two months later after the split, marrying the actress 18 months later before their eventual divorce in 2011. He then married Blake Lively in 2012.
In 2008, Morissette's interview with Howard Stern about the breakup went viral as the singer tried to laugh off probing questions about her sex life and admitted that she needed therapy five days a week to get over the heartbreak.
Reflecting on the difficult interview, Morissette told The Sunday Times in June: 'It felt like the ongoing normalisation of me being invisible,' adding that she would react very differently to such intrusive questions now.
'I have a million questions I could ask back that would be equally inappropriate. It just became normalised to hurt women every day, call her a b****, tell her she's a slut,' she continued.
When Stern asked her about previously revealing she'd gone to therapy five times a week after the breakup, Morissette responded: 'Therapy's not about the guy... It's about me. It's not about the guy.'
After Stern inquired about Reynolds's quick rebound with Johansson, Morissette paused and remained silent for a moment. Stern then pressed, 'So what? He comes home and announces he's with another broad?' Alanis emphatically replied, 'No.'
When asked if she saw the split coming, Morissette nodded in agreement and admitted she had prepared herself for the breakup.
Stern then asked, 'Do you think he's the kind of guy who moves on right away when he falls in love with the next person?' to which Morissette replied, 'I can't speak for him, I have no idea.'

The mom-of-three is now married to rapper Mario 'Soulfly' Treadway and they share two children together
In 2010 Alanis married the rapper Souleye, aka Mario Treadway, and they have two sons and a daughter aged between 15 and six.
'There are just so many qualities in him that were slam-dunky,' she told The Sunday Times about her husband.
'If I would talk about something on a date, typically the person would look at me quizzically like I was strange. It was the complete opposite with Souleye. He had zero desire to clip my wings.'
Morissette also admitted that she had dealt with love addiction and sex addiction in the past, which she chalked up to being an empath.
The songstress is currently in the middle of her Los Angeles residency Butterfly with a Machete, which is a mixture of music and storytelling.
