Bob Odenkirk has a new release on Netflix this month, with his movie Nobody 2 joining its 2021 forerunner on the platform, as well as his career-defining TV series Better Call Saul. Although the Nobody movies are gritty action thrillers inviting comparisons with John Wick, their protagonist is surprisingly similar to Odenkirk’s iconic character in the Breaking Bad franchise.

At the same time, the second Nobody movie will be especially enjoyable for fans of the Breaking Bad franchise. Nobody 2’s ending actually feels like an alternative conclusion to Saul’s journey in Better Call Saul, if Jimmy and Kim decided to embrace a life of crime together.

Nobody 2 will join Nobody on Netflix in the United States and various other regions on Saturday, March 14, 2026. It’s unlikely to be the last movie in the franchise to end up on the streaming platform, as Bob Odenkirk has recently given an update on Nobody 3, which remains in development.

The second movie was well-reviewed when it was released in theaters during the summer of 2025. Although its box office return wasn’t particularly impressive, it’s likely to be just as popular on Netflix as the first movie, thanks primarily to Odenkirk’s enduring appeal as a performer.

Connie Nielsen, Christopher Lloyd, RZA, and Colin Salmon join him in reprising their roles from Nobody in this sequel film, in an all-star cast which also features the likes of Sharon Stone, John Ortiz, and Colin Hanks. Screenwriter Derek Kolstad, who came up with Nobody to begin with, returned to script the second movie alongside Aaron Rabin.

As well as being a worthy sequel to its 2021 forerunner, Nobody 2 works as a great companion piece to Better Call Saul. Bob Odenkirk has previously admitted being happy to move on from playing Saul, putting his most famous character behind him. Yet, he comes incredibly close to channeling Jimmy McGill in the Nobody franchise.

Those who watch Better Call Saul for its title character’s slick manipulation tactics and the stark violence of its criminal setting are guaranteed to get a kick out of Nobody 2. So are viewers who root for Jimmy McGill’s complicated relationship with Kim Wexler. Becca Mansell is every bit the pillar of strength for Hutch that Kim is for Jimmy.

Saul Goodman from Better Call Saul and Hutch Mansell from the Nobody franchise are ostensibly quite different characters. Saul is a fast-talking, wise-cracking, slippery trickster who lives on his wits, whereas Hutch is a silently seething, rage-filled former assassin who’s most comfortable holding an automatic weapon. Yet, beneath their surface-level differences, the fundamental similarities between them are inescapable.

After all, both characters are equally comfortable rubbing shoulders with violent criminals, whilst veiling their dark tendencies in a veneer of everyday respectability. During Nobody 2, in particular, Hutch goes through the same transformation as Jimmy in Better Call Saul, as he learns to embrace his dark side once and for all.

In fact, the conclusion of Nobody 2 is effectively a mirror image of the final twist in Jimmy McGill’s story. Both Hutch and Jimmy have double identities which ultimately merge into one. It’s just that Hutch’s chosen identity at the end of the Nobody sequel is the darker version of himself, while Jimmy McGill banishes his darker alter ego forever.
