Every time a new action-RPG by FromSoftware comes out, I get the itch to replay most of the Souls and Souls-adjacent games they've made. Bloodborne is one of the games I go back to often, as many other people are game to play it all over again together.
Now, you can literally Return to Yharnam as a result of an annual event that's an absolute blast. The community event is running now through April 7.
Bloodborne Fans Can Return To Yharnam Now
This Event Is A Blast
If you've never participated in Return to Yharnam before (named after the region Bloodborne takes place in), it's simple to get involved. The event is essentially an online party, meant to entice people to join in for some jolly cooperation worldwide for several weeks. Kicking off on March 23 and running through April 7, you can get online and play the game when a ton of other people are active, ensuring that it's just as lively as it was at launch.
The official event website has a tool for finding hunters, and provides a series of event codes, meant for each password matchmaking. Here are all the tips the event runners suggest for facilitating co-op:
- Set your matchmaking region to "Worldwide"
- Use the same password as your friend
- Ring the Small Bell before ringing the Beckoning Bell
- Make sure the host has not defeated the area boss
- Stand where you can be summoned
And for PVP:
- Purchase the Small Resonant Bell.
- Reload the Hunter's Dream.
- Purchase the Sinister Resonant Bell.
- Go to the area you want to PVP in.
- Ring the Sinister Resonant Bell.
In other words, no matter what type of multiplayer you want to partake in, the community is ready and willing to play during this time (and beyond). I've participated in past years and have had an absolute blast, mostly because everyone is in a good mood and wants to see the game live on in some capacity. It's a pretty wholesome cause from a collective of passionate fans.
Bloodborne Remains A Beloved PlayStation Exclusive
Much To The Chagrin Of Many
While Bloodborne is still highlighted as one of the best PlayStation exclusives of the past decade-plus, fans aren't happy that it's still stuck on the PlayStation 4.
For 11 years, fans have wanted FromSoftware and Sony to reach some sort of agreement to re-release it on modern platforms (or even remaster/remake it) to no avail, beyond unofficial means. Strangely, one of the most well-liked action RPGs that's currently playable is languishing in an older generation, lacking modern enhancements.
One day, we might very well get a Bloodborne remake. For now, the community is trying to make some lemonade out of the situation.
