If you weren’t aware, Blizzard has been quietly producing an Overwatch series, which has reached its final installment (at least for now) today. With the release of this finale, that makes the series perfect for binging, and the best news is that you can watch it on YouTube for free, with your favorite characters being voiced by some of the top talent in voice acting, including Critical Role’s Matt Mercer.
On August 6, 2026, Blizzard Publishing released the eighth installment of Volume 2 of its Overwatch animated comic series, which consists of one-shot stories each featuring a different creative team. These digital one-shots have also received special treatment, with Blizzard lightly animating the comic panels and bringing in S-tier talent from the voice-acting community to voice these stories.
Based on current solicitations on League of Comic Geeks, Overwatch #8 marks the last installment of the planned stories for Volume 2 of Blizzard Publishing’s Overwatch series. While League of Comic Geeks lists each one-shot numerically by release date, each has a unique title and features a different cast of characters and creators, making them complete standalone stories.
The eight issues that make up Volume 2 of the Overwatch series is the Vendetta-starring Vengeance Games; Anran Ye’s From the Ashes; Sierra’s New Heights; Ashe and Cole Cassidy’s Crossroads; Lifeweaver, Palak Nathani, and Venture’s The Deep Sea Deception; Mizuki Kawano and Shion’s Facing Demons; the Kiriko Kamori-starring Paths We Choose; and the August 6 release of D.Mon’s Growing Pains. Wondering where to watch? We have the link below.
Where to Watch Overwatch’s New Animated Comic Series
Main Cover by Irene Koh for Overwatch #1, Vol. 2 (Vengeance Games)
As previously mentioned, these one-shot comics have been lightly animated, with all episodes now available to watch on YouTube and are accessible through each comic’s page on Blizzard’s official site. You simply need to click the comic you want, and you’ll be given the option to download the free PDF and read it, or follow the YouTube link to watch the animated comic.
If you choose to watch the animated comics, you’ll find that each comic is read by A-list talent from the voice-acting community. For example, should you choose to enjoy Overwatch: Crossroads, you’ll find that Cassidy is brought to life by Critical Role’s very own Matt Mercer. Similarly, viewers will also find animations from this volume voiced by other talents like Genshin Impact’s LilyPichu, Overwatch 2’s very own Chiara Preziosi, and more.
One thing that readers/viewers should keep in mind is that Blizzard’s animated comics go far beyond just the eight installments mentioned above. The eight mentioned are just the latest batch of Blizzard’s ever-growing, game-inspired bibliography, and fans will be able to find even more episodes to watch on PlayOverwatch’s YouTube channel. So, if you need something to scratch that Overwatch itch this weekend that goes beyond gameplay, then you are already teed up with this latest batch of animated comics.
Overwatch Vol. 2 from Blizzard Publishing is now available in its entirety to read and watch!
