Blake Lively jokes Ryan Reynolds is her 'human Barbie' as she shares snap of him carrying a floral handbag

Blake Lively has been known to channel her inner Barbie with her bright and bold outfits.

But on Friday, it was her husband Ryan Reynolds’ turn to play dress up.

The 39-year-old American actress posted an image of the 49-year-old Canadian star wearing a knitted button-down shirt and spectacles.

He accessorized with a flat cap and, surprisingly, a handbag covered in daisy appliques.

‘He's my human my size Barbie,’ Lively wrote in a caption on her Instagram Story, set to the sound of Barbie Girl by Aqua.

The 3ft dolls were especially popular in the 90s when Lively was a child.

Her gushing post coincides with the release of Reynolds’ new Apple TV movie, Mayday.

In it Reynolds' character (a U.S. pilot) builds an unlikely friendship with an eccentric ex-KGB agent (Kenneth Branagh) obsessed with '80s American culture.

This week his comments about the decade appeared to irritate reality star Spencer Pratt.

Reynolds looked back at the 80s as 'tumultuous' and traumatic in a recent interview, prompting Pratt to label him a 'tool.'

He told Variety: 'What's interesting is when you get far enough away from a time period that's distinct, there's always a lovely feeling associated with it.

'It's almost like you pave over all the trauma with puppy dogs and ice cream.'

Speaking on the red carpet at the AMC Lincoln Square in New York City on Tuesday night, Reynolds, born in 1976, listed what he thought we often gloss over.

He explained: 'The 80s was a brutal, brutal time for people. It was a f*****g mess and people forget that. It was a tremendous strife. Socio political tensions everywhere. We were still pretty fresh off a Cuban missile crisis, which was only 15-20 years before.'

'It's a tumultuous period, but you look back at it now and you're like, 'Oh, yeah. Top Gun. Cocaine!' Like, 'No!' It was really scary.'

With that in mind, the star suggested that when we look back on 2026 and this era we'll pick on the 'big ticket items that didn't really leave the footprint, culturally, that we thought it would've.'

Explaining that much of the oughts felt like a mix of decades previous, while the decade previous were their 'own thing,' he predicted the 'COVID era' would be looked at with rose-colored glasses.

He exclaimed: 'We're living in the frickin' salad days. We just don't know it.'

It prompted Pratt to post on X: 'Here I am trying to bring back American film jobs, and then these tools keep saying stupid crap like this and making every normal American hate them.

'Hollywood is seriously its own worst enemy. Just stick to the Cricket wireless ads, dude.'

Lively's post comes after Candace Owens shared about her random run-in with Justin Baldoni, 42, last week, and took a jab at Lively.

'There was an approximate 1 in 100 million chance that I ran into Justin Baldoni at an airport in Iceland on a Friday afternoon,' the political commentator, 37, captioned a selfie that showed her cuddling up to the actor. 'Just incredible.'

She added the hashtag #Cousins in a nod to her support of Baldoni amid his public feud with his It Ends with Us co-star Lively.

'NOBODY messes with my cousin,' Owens added.

In another subtle jab at Lively, Owens posted the photo to her Instagram Stories, accompanying the image with the Taylor Swift track My Tears Ricochet.

The song was used in It Ends With Us and Lively and Swift were previously close friends before their high-profile falling out.

On Wednesday, a judge in New York ruled she will be awarded just five percent ($400,000) of the amount she sought to recoup ($8 million) for defending herself against Baldoni's $400 million defamation lawsuit.

The judge said hours Lively had billed for her lawyers were 'unreasonable' and criticized the 'discrepancies' in the expenses she was trying to claim.

The court ruling came months after the same judge threw out most of the claims in Lively's sexual harassment case against her It Ends With Us co-star and they agreed to settle the case with no money changing hands.

Judge Lewis Liman had previously dismissed Baldoni's defamation countersuit against Lively, but he did allow her to seek legal fees solely related to defending that action.

Lively sued Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios production company in December 2024 for alleged sexual harassment on the set of the movie, and defamation.

Baldoni responded the following month with the $400 million lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds, and the New York Times, which was first to publish her claims.

In October last year, a judge dismissed Baldoni's case and in May this year, after a judge dismissed most of Lively's claims, she agreed to settle her claim.
