Next to be seen playing Count Orlok in Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu, which releases on Christmas Day, Skarsgård’s upcoming slate also includes It: Welcome to Derry, which he exec produces, and the David Yarovesky thriller Locked.
Best known for starring as the volatile Billy Hargrove on Netflix’s Stranger Things, which is heading into its final season, Australian actor Montgomery also has Legendary’s Faces of Death remake coming up, as well as Went Up the Hill, a horror thriller with Vicky Krieps, which Greenwich Entertainment just acquired.
Known for films like Good Will Hunting and Elephant, Van Sant returns to the director’s chair for the first time since 2018’s Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot starring Joaquin Phoenix. Currently, he’s also attached to helm a film on the Hulk Hogan vs Gawker court case starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.
Skarsgård is repped by WME, Magnolia Entertainment, and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum; Montgomery by CAA and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern; Van Sant by WME; and Kolodney by Mosaic, Verve, and Fox Rothschild.
The InSneider’s Jeff Sneider was first to report on Van Sant and Skarsgård’s involvement with the project.
