A brunette bombshell of the 1990s who co-starred with heartthrobs including Kevin Costner and Ben Affleck had gray hair when she was glimpsed this week.
The veteran actress' early career featured a starring role on a short-lived 1990s revival of a 1960s soap opera that was later adapted into a film with Johnny Depp.
On the big screen, she romanced Costner in a biopic of a legendary lawman of the Wild West and acted with Affleck in a forgotten horror film.
Her career that decade also saw her play alongside such names as Joaquin Phoenix, Liev Schreiber, Billy Crudup and even Sidney Poitier.
More recently, she featured on some of the most acclaimed TV series including House of Cards, Mad Men and The Pitt, and in real life she was married to the leading man of a beloved Ryan Murphy show.
During her silver-haired sighting in Los Angeles on Monday, she cut a stylish figure in a print caftan that brought back memories of 1970s Hollywood.

She is none other than Joanna Going, who made her film debut as the common law wife of Kevin Costner's title character in the 1994 film Wyatt Earp.
The Daily Mail has contacted a representative for Going for comment.
Helmed by Silverado director Lawrence Kasdan, the Old West epic assembled a glittering cast sprinkled with names like Dennis Quaid, Catherine O'Hara, Gene Hackman, Michael Madsen, Bill Pullman, Tom Sizemore and Isabella Rossellini.
Her season two arc on House of Cards as First Lady Tricia Walker, the object of manipulation by Robin Wright's Claire Underwood, won her a new fanbase.
She was spotted this week in her caftan collecting a delivery outside her house, and in an elegant pink blouse with jeans as she dashed about running errands.
Born in Washington, DC, in 1963, Joanna Catherine Going studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and then broke into acting via soap operas.
In 1991, she was on the short-lived revival of the cult 1960s horror-tinged soap opera Dark Shadows, which Tim Burton later adapted into a 2012 dark comedy starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Michelle Pfeiffer.
Going was one of the principal stars of the 1990s reboot of the show in the dual role of the governess Victoria Winters and the ghost Josette du Pres, but what might have proven a breakthrough for her was canceled after a single season of 12 episodes.
Among her castmates was Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who was all of nine when the series was filmed and had yet to become a full-fledged child star in Angels in the Outfield.

Three years after Dark Shadows was canceled, Going landed the role of the Costner character's love interest Josie Marcus on Wyatt Earp.
The film propelled her to a new level of public recognition, and as the 1990s thundered ahead she was cast among the era's top names.
In 1995, another Western came her way in the shape of the miniseries Children of the Dust, led by Sidney Poitier as a bounty hunter at the top of a cast list that also contained Billy Wirth, Jim Caviezel and Charlie's Angels bombshell Farrah Fawcett.
Then in 1997, Going was one of the principal players in Inventing the Abbotts, a coming-of-age drama set in the 1950s starring her, Liv Tyler and Jennifer Connelly as sisters opposite Billy Crudup, Joaquin Phoenix and an uncredited Michael Keaton.
The following year, Going and Rose McGowan starred in the Dean Koontz adaptation Phantoms alongside Ben Affleck, Liev Schreiber and Peter O'Toole.
McGowan and Going played sisters who return to their hometown to discover the residents have been mysteriously dying as a result of a menace they attempt to uncover with the help of a sheriff played by Affleck.
The picture was a disastrous flop that was savaged by the critics and is now best-remembered as a punchline in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, in which Affleck – playing a parody of himself – is told: 'Affleck, you the bomb in Phantoms, yo!'
During the 2000s, Going jobbed around on such classic television programs of the era as Law & Order, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Criminal Minds.
