It's obvious that Gary still has lingering feelings for Daisy on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5. He admitted that he was still attracted to her in a confessional early in the season, and Gary also made commentary about Daisy while he was drunk that would suggest he's still into his former friend and colleague. However, he's not the only one aboard the Parsifal III interested in Daisy, given Chef Cloyce Martin's bizarre revelations regarding Daisy in the most recent episode. Is it all fake?
Chef Cloyce's Flirting Seems Fake
Is He Really Interested In Daisy?
Producers have been hinting at Chef Cloyce's interest in Daisy throughout the season, but his flirting seems really fake. Early on, Chef Cloyce admitted that he found Daisy attractive, but after they started clashing over service standards, it seemed that his little crush went by the wayside. Chef Cloyce had a particular way he wanted Daisy to communicate with him, and Daisy maintained that she had seniority aboard the Parsifal III, meaning Chef Cloyce needed to do things her way.

Daisy finds Chef Cloyce endlessly annoying, and there don't seem to be any romantic feelings on her end. When Chef Cloyce delayed service by 17 minutes early in the charter season, she was done with his behavior. She went to Captain Glenn Shephard to voice her concerns. The nail in the coffin for her opinion of Chef Cloyce was the incident where Cloyce ordered a cake rather than making it for a guest's birthday, which was a disaster.
Producers are trying to set up a relationship between Daisy and Chef Cloyce, but the interest seems one-sided.
In the most recent episode, Daisy and Chef Cloyce feuded over service standards again, with Chef Cloyce openly complaining to Daisy's stews, Danni Warren and Diana Cruz. Daisy confronted Cloyce, unafraid to raise her voice to the 22-year-old chef. Bizarrely, Cloyce reacted with a talking head in which he claimed he was attracted to Daisy when she yelled at him. It would take a lot to get Daisy to overcome her feelings for Chef Cloyce, making his confessional feel faked by producers.
Producers Put Daisy And Gary In The Same Cabin
They Shouldn't Room Together
When Gary and Captain Glenn Shephard were forced to fire Deckhand Emma Crouch for her incompetence and laziness, former Deckhand Chase Lemacks was called in to save the day. However, this created a problem for bunking, as Emma and Daisy had been sharing a cabin. In an effort to keep the other cabins together, Daisy and Gary chose to share a room. Given their romantic history, it's clear this was a move by production to stir up romantic drama between Gary and Daisy.

Gary and Daisy have let bygones be bygones, but there's still a spark between them. When Gary kissed Danni after a drunken night out, Daisy was disproportionally angry with her former friend. She yelled at him for reverting to his old ways and chastised him for going after someone so much younger than him. While Daisy would likely argue this was because she was looking out for Gary, it's also probably because she has unresolved feelings for Gary.
Putting Gary and Daisy in the same cabin is a move by producers to ensure they hook up again. Gary tends to drink way too much on every crew night out, and while Daisy isn't as obvious and obnoxious about it, she does too. There isn't enough drama on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5, so producers have manufactured it.
Producers Are Obsessed With Making Daisy A Villain
Giving Her Another Love Triangle Could Seal The Deal
Producers have been obsessed with making Daisy a villain in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5. She's a consummate franchise favorite, making this twist surprising and an obvious manipulation on the part of production. Her stews, Danni and Diana, can't stand her, despite Daisy being the same as she was in previous seasons. The two constantly whine and try to undermine Daisy's authority, throwing her under the bus whenever they can. However, their behavior has caused Daisy to look bad.
Daisy likely isn't a producer plant, but production is definitely messing with her storyline.
Giving Daisy another tumultuous love triangle could seal the deal in her villain arc in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5. Her romance with Gary will almost certainly end badly, and she doesn't have any real interest in Chef Cloyce. Production is trying to make Daisy look bad in an attempt to save Gary after his sexual misconduct incident. In making Daisy the villain, Gary ends up looking like a misunderstood good guy.
Will Daisy And Gary Finally Get Together?
They Seem Destined To Be A Couple
Regardless of whether production is trying to set up Daisy's future love life, the question of Gary and Daisy's future still hangs in the balance. The pair have been friends for years, working well together on Below Deck Sailing Yacht. Together with Colin, they were unstoppable. It's clear the chemistry is still there between them in season 5, but their relationship is stilted. Neither of them wants to make a move on the other, but they're doing a bad job remaining strictly professional.
Daisy and Gary seem destined to be together, but it might not happen on-camera. The Chief Stew tends to look after Gary in a motherly way, trying to keep him out of trouble. However, they won't be able to stay away from each other for long, especially given their close proximity on the Parsifal III. Whatever happens, Chef Cloyce won't be involved. His commentary was production's way of manipulating Daisy's potential love life on Below Deck Sailing Yacht.
