Below Deck Down Under Season 3 Could Sink Without Chief Stew Aesha Scott (Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph Shared How Hard It Was)

Below Deck Down Under season 3 has been highly-anticipated, but after some comments from Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph, it appears the show could sink without Chief Stew Aesha Scott returning. Throughout Below Deck Down Under’s run, Aesha has been the only Chief Stew working with the crew. While Captain Jason Chambers and Aesha’s working relationship has been praised by Below Deck viewers to an extent that has made them somewhat uncomfortable, the pair do have a great rapport and work well together in a professional sense. With Aesha leaving Below Deck Down Under behind, things are changing for the crew.

Although Aesha is only one piece of the puzzle for the crew of Below Deck Down Under, her presence was a calming one for the team as they moved through their first charters. Aesha’s shorthand with Captain Jason was great, but it’s possible that there were some other growing pains of a new charter crew that viewers didn’t see on screen. With Chef Tzarina coming back to the series for her second charter season along with deckhand Harry Van Vliet, there are returning cast members who could easily help shape the crew from the inside out, even without Aesha’s overall ability.

She Chose To Move Back To Her Original Series

As a Chief Stew, Aesha got her start on Below Deck Down Under, but earlier in her career she appeared on another Below Deck franchise show. Having gotten her start as a stew on Below Deck Mediterranean, Aesha knew that she would take any opportunity that the franchise threw at her, and when Below Deck Down Under season 2 wrapped, she chose to go back to her roots. While it was likely clear to Aesha that there would have to be a choice made between Down Under and Med, she was likely happy to be able to spread her wings.

The Pair Built A Bond Last Season

Although Chef Tzarina was new to the franchise during the hectic Below Deck Down Under season 2, she wound up becoming one of the closest people to Aesha. As two strong women aboard the superyacht, Aesha and Tzarina built a great rapport and were able to communicate professionally, which led to a strong personal bond, as well. The pair were able to do a great job with the rest of the crew, keeping things organized as they moved through a very difficult charter season. Tzarina was hopeful they’d be able to keep working together, but Aesha chose to move on.

Chef Tzarina Revealed Things Weren’t Easy

Below Deck Down Under season 3 is going to move forward without Aesha much to Tzarina’s chagrin, and there are signs that the season won’t be easy as it forges ahead. With a fairly new crew, there aren’t many people coming into the charter season with a breadth of experience. Instead, there are a lot of newer yachties which could cause issues for those with more experience. The new Chief Stew, Lara Rigby, has over a decade’s worth of experience, but she’s more the exception than the rule for the new crew.

Without Aesha, there could be some major disconnects between the crew and Captain Jason. Aesha appeared to be glue to hold them together in the last two seasons, and while someone else deserves the chance at doing so, Chef Tzarina’s comments make it seem like it could be quite a feat. Moving into a new era of Below Deck Down Under, it appears the crew will have their work cut out for them this charter season.
