For all consumers, the Beautyrest beds are white glove delivered for completely free. The bed showed up full-sized at our office with a delivery team who was ready to set it up for us and take away our old bed. Being online mattress reviewers, we didn’t quite need all the amenities included in the delivery process and opted to set it up ourselves. All we did was rip off the plastic, place it on our frame and the bed was ready for testing.
Once I hopped on the bed, I could definitely tell that it was a more premium mattress offering. It was a bit firmer than I originally expected, and it also felt much different than other versions of the bed I’ve tried over the years -- oh, and did I mention that cooling cover yet? Overall, this new Beautyrest Black Hybrid quickly became one of my new favorites in the luxury mattress space.

What does the Series Three mattress feel like?
In the past, we’ve observed other versions of this mattress to have a generally accommodating, neutral feel. Based on our tests, we think it predominantly has a dense memory foam feel. The memory foam layers on top are slow to respond and provide a nice body-conforming, sink-in quality, while the coils on the bottom offer plenty of support for all body types.
I’d compare the feel of this mattress to other more luxurious memory foam beds like the Leesa Reserve Hybrid or even the Saatva Contour5 mattress. These are beds that offer a more premium take on memory foam. Memory foam mattresses are not for everyone. If you’re a combination sleeper like myself, you struggle to move around efficiently on a bed like this. If you mainly sleep in one position throughout the night, this type of bed might promote restful sleep for that preference.
How firm is the Series Three mattress?
There are several firmness options to choose from with this Beautyrest mattress. The Series Three is available in a Plush, Medium and a Firm model, and each is even available with an optional pillow top. We’ve primarily tested the Medium model and observed it to be around a proper medium firm -- slightly firmer than the title implies.
This firmness ranking makes this version of the bed best for accommodating back and stomach sleepers who crave more support than pressure relief in their next mattress. Combination sleepers could also get by on this type of firmness, but if you’re a strict side sleeper who prefers a softer sleeping surface, this bed might be too firm for your liking. Beautyrest Black Hybrid Series Three mattress construction
This is a premium pillow top mattress is around 14.5’’ thick and composed of the following materials:
1. On the bottom, you’ve got a thin layer of base foam to serve as the starting point for the mattress.
2. Then, you’ve got the bed’s main support system of individually wrapped and siloed pocketed coils. These are laid out in a zoned-support design to help properly align your back on the mattress as you sleep.
3. Next, you’ve got a couple of transition foams. The first is a memory foam to offer a buffer zone of pressure relief, and the other is a latex foam to provide bounce-back and support.
4. Above that, you’ve got two more layers of high-density comfort foam to give the bed an even balance of support and cushion. And then the bed’s main comfort layer is a layer of dense memory foam.
5. On top, the bed is wrapped up in a luxurious-looking cover that Beautyrest calls the Sleep Climate Surface. It’s noticeably cool to the touch, so much so that we’d classify the bed to be active-cooling.

Motion isolation
This is an important thing to consider in your next mattress if you or your partner is an especially light sleeper. Sometimes, one person can wake up the other if they move around excessively or get up in the middle of the night. In that case, you’ll want a bed that deadens motion well. Since dense memory foam beds usually perform the best in this category, the Series Three Beautyrest Black Hybrid absorbs plenty of cross-mattress movement. I highly doubt you’ll be jostling anyone awake on this particular bed anytime soon.
Edge-to-edge support
This mattress also has some really sturdy edges. During our edge support tests, we observed very little sagging and experienced no sort of roll-off sensation. Considering how well-constructed this mattress is, I don’t anticipate anyone will have many issues with falling off its edges. You should feel firmly placed along the perimeter of the bed if you happen to find yourself hugging the outer rims of it at night.
Temperature
As I’ve mentioned, this bed’s cover, or the Sleep Climate Surface, feels noticeably cool and will probably go a long way in regulating your sleeping temperature at night. If it doesn’t help you sleep actively cool, it will certainly keep you temperature-neutral, if anything. There are plenty of other, more affordable, active-cooling beds to consider. Durability
One of the biggest takeaways about this bed was how durable I thought it innately was. The coils and high-density comfort layers all combine to produce a bed that’ll likely last any sleeper for several years to come. We usually say that the average lifespan of a mattress is around 7-10 years, but beds like this often last even longer. Given its quality hybrid construction, all body types should be supported and accommodated by this mattress in the long run.

Not every person out there will absolutely love this mattress. Its premium design and price tag make it most suitable for a certain demographic of sleeper. Here’s who we think will benefit from sleeping on this bed the most.
Sleeping position
I think back and stomach sleepers who prefer a firmer sleeping surface will enjoy this version of the bed. The bed’s medium-firm profile presents sleepers with more support than pressure relief, offering more push-back and resistance for your lower back.
If you’re a side sleeper who prefers something a bit softer, you might not like this mattress. Based on our observations, these sleepers tend to prefer softer beds that offer cushion for their shoulders and hips. If you’re a combination sleeper who rotates between all sleeping positions throughout any given night, you should be able to get by on the Medium version of the Series Three Beautyrest Black Hybrid.
Body type
This is a durable hybrid bed that’s designed to withstand a lot of pressure from night to night. For this reason alone, the Beautyrest Black Hybrid Series Three should be supportive enough to handle all body types, including much heavier people. There’s no getting around it, this bed is quite expensive. You would be investing in a more premium, high-class style of pillow top mattress, and this pricing certainly reflects it. As a brand, Beautyrest does like to run nice discounts and promotions on its beds, usually around major holidays. Keep in mind, that the standard version is more affordable.

Beautyrest backs its beds with a pretty standard policy set. Its beds ship to you with complimentary white glove delivery, and once it’s in your possession, you get a 100-night trial period to try it at home risk-free. If you happen not to like it within that time frame, you can return it, but a small fee will be deducted from your refund. This is due to the costs incurred shipping the mattress to you with that free delivery service. On the other hand, if you decide to keep it, you’re backed by a 10-year warranty. Just be sure to use the right foundation for the bed. Otherwise, you could void your bed’s warranty.

I think the Series Three is a great choice for those in the market for a luxurious pillow top bed with a memory foam feel that’s available in a bunch of firmness and comfort options. Also, if you want a mattress that you can try out in a store before you buy that shows up with free white glove delivery, not many options can top it -- just know, it’s up there price-wise.
