Beau Ryan hijacked Luisa Dal Din's interview with the Daily Mail at the Seven Upfronts on Thursday, stumbling over his explanation of her new radio role.
The television and radio star, 41, interrupted the chat as Lu was discussing her move to the Hit Network's national drive slot alongside co-host Jack Archdale.
But what began as a congratulatory exchange quickly descended into a chaotic back-and-forth involving confused station names, concert tickets and a plea for someone to collect Beau.
Lu and Jack, known as Lu & Jarch, were announced as Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little's replacements at the event, with their new show launching in 2027.
'We're so excited. Like, we can't believe it. Two little dips**s from nowhere have now got a nationwide drive show,' Lu told the Daily Mail.
Her big moment soon took an unexpected turn when Beau joined the conversation.

'You proud of me?' Lu asked him.
'So proud of you. Like, as in Prada,' Beau replied, before appearing to realise the exchange was being recorded.
'Oh, is this a video?'
Beau then attempted to explain Lu's departure from Triple M, only to get tangled up in the details.
'She's leaving Triple M. She's not leaving Southern Cross Austereo,' he said.
Lu joined in with a quip about Triple M before Beau tried to clarify which company they worked for.
'No, no, but I meant not leaving SCA, not leaving... What are we called now?'
'We're One Floor Up, mate,' Lu replied. 'One Floor Up. Very good,' Beau responded.

Despite struggling to explain the move, Beau was clear about his support for his colleague.
'No hard feelings? No. I'm proud of her,' he said. 'She's the answer, bro.'
Their banter continued as they offered conflicting accounts of how often they socialise.
'We never hang out,' Beau said.
'We always hang out,' Lu replied, before recalling an outing to see Pitbull and Mariah Carey.
She claimed Beau had consumed 'like, five Coke Zeros in the space of two hours', prompting him to bring up another soft drink.
'I've had Pepsi Max throughout,' he said.
The pair then negotiated a concert-ticket swap, with Beau offering access to Powderfinger in exchange for Lu helping him see Drake.
Asked about Carrie and Tommy's next moves, Beau then let slip that she was heading to KIIS, 'She's doing The Carrie Show, and Tommy's going to 2DayFM'
But he stayed long enough to remind everyone that he had known Lu before her latest career milestone.
'I knew her before she was, like, big national, big, big national. Like, Drive national,' he said.
'This is like crashing my interview,' Lu responded.
She then called out: 'Oi, Laura, come get your talent.'
Beau also offered some blunt advice about the scrutiny awaiting Lu and Jack as they take over the high-profile afternoon slot.
'You're gonna get smashed for six to 12 months, and then you'll be fine. Happened with us,' he said.
Lu acknowledged the pressure of following Carrie and Tommy, while also referencing another hugely successful radio partnership.
'Of course. We're stepping into massive shoes. Like, Carrie and Tommy are amazing. Before them, Hamish and Andy,' she said.
'Like, it's scary, and I don't know why they gave Jack and I the keys, but we're very excited to give it a go.'
'Cause they're very good,' Beau added.
His attempt to leave proved just as muddled as his arrival.
'I'm going. There's too many questions,' he declared, before continuing: 'What is happening? What's happening? Wait, one more.'
Asked about Carrie and Tommy's next moves, Beau then let slip that she was heading to KIIS, 'She's doing The Carrie Show, and Tommy's going to 2DayFM.'
Lu appeared equally uncertain about what to make of the exchange, laughing: 'You heard it here first'.
