BBC star Peter Grant has sadly died following a short battle with cancer.
News of broadcaster's tragic death was confirmed by his Radio Newcastle and Teesside co-star Simon Logan on Sunday.
He took to his Facebook to announce: 'So very difficult to post that we have lost another radio legend and my great friend of 25 years.'
Sharing a heartfelt tribute to his friend, Simon wrote: 'Peter Grant was a wonderful and talented person that was known for presenting radio and TV shows on many different platforms ..here is a chat with him I did last year, just to hear his positive attitude which shines through is a leveller for all.
'R.I.P Peter, you fought a brave battle and will always be remembered especially for being kind, generous and so positive all the time.
'Thanks for the laughs and the great times Peter, everyone who knew you will miss you always xx'.

Peter was adored by fans who knew him from stations including Magic, Hallam FM, Durham FM, Plymouth Sound, BBC Radio Newcastle and Tees, Radio Aire and TFM.
He also appeared on screen hosting shows for Made In Tyne and Wear and presenting the weather on BBC Look North Breakfast.
After the sad news broke of Peter's death, tributes from fans and former colleagues began to flood in for the beloved presenter.
BBC Radio Newcastle star Alfie Joey took to Facebook to write a tribute to his 'old friend', who he described as 'relentlessly positive', even after being diagnoses with cancer last year.
He shared a beaming photo of him and Peter together at a cancer charity event, looking smart in tuxedos and bow ties.
Alongside, he wrote: 'Well this is sad. An old friend of mine from radioland has died. Peter Grant was great company & relentlessly positive.
'Even when he was given his cancer diagnosis last year he said he wasn't going to dwell on the negatives. What an amazing outlook to have and to learn from.
'Thoughts and love to his wife Sarahjane Peter Grant & family. And fond memories of some happy times together, on and off air. RIP Peter.'

Fellow radio broadcasters Colin Briggs and Graeme Pickering also voiced their heartbreak at learning the tragic news and took to X to praise Peter's 'incredible enthusiasm' and friendliness.
Colin wrote: 'Dreadful, dreadful news. Great bloke Peter. Thoroughly enjoyed working alongside him. Proper pro at everything he did...
He added: 'Big kid at heart who never fell out of love with broadcasting.'
While Graeme echoed: 'Saddened to learn this. Worked with Peter when he was on TFM and, regularly, when he took on the Magic 1170 breakfast show
'Last saw him when he was in one day at BBC Tees. Just as friendly and upbeat with folks off-air as he was on-air. Did a shout-out to my Gran when she was 96.
'The 'real deal' with incredible enthusiasm for the job - and it showed in everything he did.'
