Barry Manilow has postponed his February residency dates at the Westgate Las Vegas following treatment for stage-one lung cancer.
The singer shared in a statement that he’s “doing great” and “recovering well” after his surgery, but will need to postpone his February 12-21 Vegas residency on the advice of his doctors.
“I’ve been getting exercise and spending some time in the studio, which has been fantastic,” says Manilow. “With my doctor’s guidance and recommendation, however, we have decided to postpone my residency dates … so I can stay focused on healing and getting ready for the tour that’s kicking off at the end of February. Having a few extra weeks to rest and prepare is what the doctor ordered!”
Tickets for the postponed Vegas dates will be fully refundable, and Manilow will return to Westgate Las Vegas on March 26-28. Manilow is still scheduled to kick off his arena tour on February 27 at Tampa’s Benchmark International Arena, with dates slated through the end of April.
Manilow previously announced in December that he was undergoing treatment for a cancerous spot on his lung that was discovered after he finished a run of Christmas concerts. He had been recovering from six weeks of bronchitis and a five-week relapse that prompted him to see a doctor, who discovered the cancerous spot that needed to be removed. Last month, Manilow rescheduled January tour dates for March and April and promised new music would be on the way.
