In addition to being a die-hard fan of filmmaking, television, video gaming, and anything else with a gripping narrative, Aidan Kelley is also a passionate and detail-oriented writer and journalist at Collider.com. In addition to his work as a Senior Resource Writer, Aidan has also contributed to Collider's features and news reporting sections. He has covered major industry events, such as San Diego Comic-Con and the D23 Expo, and has had the privelege of interviewing industry stars like Bruce Campbell, Maggie Q, Chad Stahelski, and more. This sincere love for the art of storytelling began at a young age, with Aidan making video movie reviews for the news program at his local high school. That love only increased over the years, with an ongoing career in independent filmmaking and screenwriting after graduating with a degree in Film and television from DePaul University.

Today may be the Super Bowl, but there's a different kind of Super that is already dominating the online conversation. Ahead of today's festivities, which are already guaranteed to have a mountain of new trailers for upcoming flicks such as Project Hail Mary and Scream 7, James Gunn himself has shared a brand-new look at DC Studios' tentpole project, Supergirl. While the new movie will pick up directly after the events of last year's Superman, the new project will also delve into Kara Zor-El's (Milly Alcock) past, and the new teaser shows her meeting an adorable little troublemaker: a puppy version of Krypto.
The new teaser begins with a flashback to Kara's infamous homeworld of Krypton, where she appears to be taking part in some sort of funeral procession. It's there that she comes across a dirty stray puppy who desperately seems to need a home, leading Kara to take the pup under her wing. As those who saw last year's Superman already know, Krypto was revealed to not be Clark Kent's (David Corenswet) canine companion, as the Man of Steel was just dog-sitting him while Kara was off-world partying. The big question that remains is how and when Clark and Kara first met. If the confirmation of flashbacks is any indication, we may get that answer when the new movie premieres this summer.Directed by Greg Gillespie and heavily inspired by the comic Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Milly Alcock's first leading role as Kara Zor-El will take her on an intergalactic sci-fi journey alongside her trusty canine companion. Where her cousin Superman may be a noble and daring protector, Kara is a much more jaded and cynical crime fighter who wastes no time putting bad guys in their place. However, that'll be much easier said than done when she comes face-to-face with some of the biggest threats she's ever faced, including the ruthless and maniacal Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts) and the immortal bounty hunter Lobo (Jason Momoa).
This is a developing story. Stay tuned to Collider as the updates come in.
