The second season of Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action series will premiere on June 25, two years and four months after the debut of Season 1.
Returning cast Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, Dallas Liu, Elizabeth Yu, Momona Tamada and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, with Maria Zhang and Daniel Dae Kim, are joined by new addition Miyako who plays blind earthbender Toph, a popular character from the Nikelodeon animated show the Netflix series is based on.
A behind-the-scenes Season 2 video released along with the premiere date announcement provides a more detailed look at Toph than the teaser trailer for the new season released in December. It also gives a glimpse Ba Sing Se and how the Earth Kingdom capital was built for Season 2 of the series. You can watch the video above and see two new S2 photos below.
Avatar: The Last Airbender follows Aang (Cormier), the young Avatar, as he learns to master the four elements (Water, Earth, Fire, Air) to restore balance to a world threatened by the terrifying Fire Nation. In S2, after a bittersweet victory saving the Northern Water Tribe from the invading Fire Nation, Avatar Aang, Katara (Kiawentiio) and Sokka (Ousley) regroup and set off on a mission to convince the elusive Earth King to aid in their battle against fearsome Fire Lord Ozai (Kim).
