Australian fitness influencer speaks out one year after her Melbourne home was firebombed while she holidayed in Bali: 'I'm still waiting for answers'

Australian fitness influencer Caitlin Lyndon has revealed she is still searching for answers one year after her Melbourne home was allegedly firebombed while she was holidaying in Bali.

The social media personality, who is known online as Fitmum and is a familiar face on Sydney's social scene, lost almost everything when a suspicious blaze ripped through her property in July last year.

Despite rebuilding her life from scratch, Caitlin said those responsible have never been caught, with the police investigation still ongoing.

'I'm still waiting for answers,' she told The Daily Telegraph. 'I feel like not too much has been done at all.

'I still have hope that one day the people who booted my door in and blew my house up will get their karma... I'm still waiting.'

Caitlin was overseas when emergency services were called to the property, which was later declared uninhabitable.

Police said two people were seen fleeing the scene before a vehicle believed to be linked to the incident was found abandoned and alight nearby.

A year on, the investigation remains open.

'Every other firebombing that happened in 2025 seems to have resulted in the culprits being found, while mine is still an open investigation,' she said.

'It is frustrating but I'll let the police do what they are meant to do.'

While the fire destroyed her clothes, furniture and other belongings, Caitlin said the greatest loss was the irreplaceable items that held priceless memories.

'I don't care about the dollar value. I care about the memories we lost,' she said.

'We lost all of our photo albums, passports, birth certificates, change of name documents, everything sentimental.

'Clothes are clothes, bags are bags. They can all be replaced. I lost the things I actually cared about.'

Following her return to Australia, she spent several weeks living in an Airbnb before securing a new home, determined to rebuild her life for herself and her young son.

'As a mother, I went straight into fight or flight mode and rebuilt our life,' she said.

'I found a new place, my business is going well, my son is happy. You pull strength from your child.'

Since the alleged attack, Lyndon has travelled back to Bali twice.

She admitted the first trip was emotionally challenging, bringing back memories of receiving the devastating phone call.

Her second visit, however, coincided with the first anniversary of the alleged firebombing and marked an emotional milestone.

'It was a full-circle moment,' she said.

'I'm so proud of how far I've come.'

Despite the trauma, the influencer said she refuses to let the incident define her.

'It has definitely made me a more humble and resilient person,' she said.

'If there was a vendetta against me, my son didn't deserve to be exposed to that. No one should ever have to go through something like this. But these experiences make us stronger.'
