Chris is a Senior News Writer for Collider. He can be found in an IMAX screen, with his eyes watering and his ears bleeding for his own pleasure. He joined the news team in 2022 and accidentally fell upwards into a senior position despite his best efforts.
For reasons unknown, he enjoys analyzing box office receipts, giant sharks, and has become known as the go-to man for all things Bosch, Mission: Impossible and Christopher Nolan in Collider's news division. Recently, he found himself yeehawing along to the Dutton saga on the Yellowstone Ranch.
He is proficient in sarcasm, wit, Photoshop and working unfeasibly long hours. Amongst his passions sit the likes of the history of the Walt Disney Company, the construction of theme parks, steam trains and binge-watching Gilmore Girls with a coffee that is just hot enough to scald him.
His obsession with the Apple TV+ series Silo is the subject of mockery within the Senior News channel, where his feelings about Taylor Sheridan's work are enough to make his fellow writers roll their eyes.
Apple TV just launched the pulse-pounding trailer for Season 5 of For All Mankind, and if you thought the Mars drama couldn’t get more intense… think again. Season 5 jumps ahead to the 2010s, years after the Goldilocks asteroid heist. Happy Valley has evolved into a full-blown colony, home to thousands and serving as a launchpad for even deeper missions into the solar system, but Earth wants control.
The 10-episode fifth season premieres globally on Friday, March 27, with one episode dropping weekly through May 29. If you’ve somehow slept on one of the most ambitious sci-fi dramas of the past decade, now is officially your warning.
The returning ensemble includes Toby Kebbell, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, Coral Peña, and Wrenn Schmidt. New series regulars joining the mission include Mireille Enos, Costa Ronin, Sean Kaufman, Ruby Cruz, and Ines Asserson. And yes, Joel Kinnaman is a) still in the show and b) his character is somehow still alive despite being around 900 years old by this point.
Created by Ronald D. Moore, alongside Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi, For All Mankind imagines a world where the Soviet Union beat the United States to the Moon in 1969. That single twist turns the Cold War space race into an ongoing, decades-spanning competition that never cools off.
How Good Is 'For All Mankind'?
It's sensational television, it can't be overstated how compelling the series is, once you get through the opening few episodes and get your bearings. Collider’s review stated that For All Mankind Season 4 remains one of Apple TV’s most compelling sci-fi series — not because of spectacle alone, but because of how deeply it roots its cosmic ambitions in human struggle.
The questions being raised and the challenges the characters are facing are ones that all of us will have to sit with. There are no heroes coming to save the day. Instead, it is all about coming together to make a world that is better for all. This is no easy task, and there are moments where dialogue can feel a bit stiff in setting this up, including when it threatens to come apart, though the performances make it all work. One can only hope that the series gets to carry out its vision into a fifth season and beyond for what its creators have planned. Science fiction and television writ large is better with a series like For All Mankind in it.
