Apple TV has quietly become the home for some of the biggest sci-fi shows in the world. The streamer exploded onto the sci-fi scene a few years ago with back-to-back hit releases in Severance and Silo, and it was clear that Apple was here to stay as a major player in the sci-fi TV game. Both shows have received new seasons in the years since with more on the way, but they were also toppled in the viewership category by what is now Apple TV’s biggest sci-fi show, Pluribus. The show hails from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, and it shattered Severance’s records to become the most-watched Apple TV show of all time.

Many fans had forgotten about For All Mankind, considering it’s been nearly three years since an episode of the show was released. However, Season 5 of the bonkers sci-fi show is set to return sooner than you realize, on March 27. The first episode will be released on this day, and subsequent installments in the 10-episode season will air weekly until the finale on May 22. The show has also been picked up for Season 6 ahead of the Season 5 premiere.

‘For All Mankind’s Showrunner Has Another Big Project In the Works

For All Mankind was written and created for TV by Ronald D. Moore, who is also the lead writer and showrunner on Prime Video’s God of War series. Prime Video released the first look at the show not long ago, but it was met with heavy blowback from fans. There was enough criticism that Kratos actor Ryan Hurst took to his social media to ask fans to “not believe everything you see on the internet,” but this came as a surprise considering the image was not a leak, but an official release.

Catch up on the first four seasons of For All Mankind on Apple TV and stay tuned to Collider for more updates and coverage of Season 5.
