Britta DeVore is a Senior Author for Collider who has been known to dabble with Reality News as well.

Have you seen stories about 'Chucky,' 'Scream,' 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' 'The Boys,' 'Vanderpump Rules,' or any of 'The Real Housewives' franchises? That's probably a Britta DeVore-curated piece of art, and it sounds like you have great taste.

When she isn't sitting behind her laptop bringing readers her hot takes on upcoming projects or keeping the dream alive in the Senior News team, Britta can usually be found outside hiking or inside behind her drum set. She currently plays in two bands, Kid Midnight and Watergate, both based in Brooklyn. An obsessive traveler, Britta loves long road trips to the South West and has a soft spot in her heart for canyons, rivers, and forests.

She also has a tiny cat named Athena that she loves more than anything else in the world and is always happy for new brewery recs.

Anya Taylor-Joy has spent her last few years embracing the sci-fi side of life thanks to appearances in a slew of crowd-pleasing features like Dune: Part Two, The Gorge, and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Today, we’re finally getting a glimpse at The Queen’s Gambit star’s return to the small screen, thanks to a teaser and first-look images for Lucky, a new limited series that sees the sought-after actress pair with Apple TV. Backed by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, the title is the latest adaptation to come from the Cruel Intentions star’s book club and will pull its story from the pages of Marissa Stapley’s New York Times bestselling novel of the same name. Created by Jonathan Tropper, the tense thriller is slated for its two-episode global debut on Wednesday, July 15, with new episodes dropping weekly through August 19.

Walking us through “a period of bad decisions over an extended period of time,” the teaser for Lucky builds intrigue as we see life flash before the eyes of Taylor-Joy’s character, Lucky. The initial seconds see a car accident eject her through the windshield, while the following moments see her struggle to regain consciousness and get to her feet. Then, frame by frame and second by second, we see some of those “bad decisions” that presumably got the titular con artist into her life-altering predicament.

In addition to the teaser, we’ve also been lucky (pun intended) enough to catch a glimpse at a handful of stills from Apple TV’s upcoming pulse-pounding series. One shot sees Taylor-Joy’s Lucky engulfed by dark surroundings with only the small flame of her lighter to illuminate the surrounding space, while others take us up close and personal with ensemble members, including Timothy Olyphant (Alien: Earth), Annette Bening (Nyad), Aunjanue Ellis Taylor (King Richard), and Drew Starkey (Outer Banks).

Meet the Team Behind ‘Lucky’

In addition to starring in Lucky, Taylor-Joy marks her comeback to episodic storytelling as the project’s executive producer, a role she’s joined in by Hello Sunshine’s Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter, as well as the pilot’s director, Jonathan van Tulleken, and its co-showrunners, Tropper and Cassie Pappas. In addition to the folks who were featured in the images and teasers, Lucky’s call sheet also includes the talents of Clifton Collins Jr. (Train Dreams) and William Fichtner (Talamasca: The Secret Order).

Check out the trailer and first-look images for Lucky above and tune in for the two-episode premiere on Apple TV on July 15.
