Anne Hathaway, 43, gets adventurous with her maternity wear in bizarre netted top amid surprise third pregnancy

Anne Hathaway showed off her growing baby bump while out in New York City on Tuesday - just weeks after announcing her surprise third pregnancy.

The Oscar-winning actress, 43, was seen stepping out of a black SUV in a wild maternity look that included a white top with a netted, see-through bodice.

She styled it with a blue and white striped calf-length skirt and an adorable pair of pink sandals decked out with fake red berries.

Hathaway carried a gray canvas handbag with tan, leather details and completed her outfit with white cateye sunglasses. 

For an added touch of glamour, the star of The Odyssey accessorized with chunky gold jewelry. 

Despite her pregnancy, Hathaway has been hard at work promoting the newly released Christopher Nolan film, which has already made over $650 million at the worldwide box office.  

Hathaway broke her silence on her surprise pregnancy news while appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers earlier this month.

She and her husband Adam Shulman, 45, who got married in 2012, are already parents to sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, six.

'I mean, we knew what we were doing, but we were so shocked it worked,' she admitted of her and Shulman's plans to expand their family.

'We knew, and yeah, but no, we were just - we were so shocked it went this way,' she added. 

'So we're calling this one our buzzer beater.'

She announced her pregnancy in mid-June with an Instagram post featuring a video of her stepping into the frame to reveal her baby bump.

She wore a long, white dress that was the silhouette of her body and a small baby bump.

Hathaway aptly set the video to the tune of Barbara Lewis's song Baby I'm Yours.

At the New York City premiere of The Odyssey on July 14, Hathaway discussed the changes in her style amid her third pregnancy. 

In an interview with Extra, she was asked a question about 'how much fun' she's been having and if she 'wears sweatpants anymore.' 

Hathaway responded: 'Not recently, but lately I've found that sweatpants don't fit as well as palazzo pants, so [they] are my pregnancy pants of choice.' 

She has been intentionally showing off her bump in glamorous attire on the theme of The Odyssey during the publicity rounds, according to her stylist Erin Walsh, who often details on her Instagram how they decide on the outfits. 

Just earlier this year, Hathaway had spoken up about how 'lucky' she feels while reflecting on motherhood. 

'I know that not everybody who wants to be a parent gets to be,' she told People on April 20. 

'I'm just blown away by how fortunate I am. It went really well for me twice, and that's really lucky.' She also gushed about her husband, saying that he 'supports me completely.' 

'I'm so lucky that he's my partner that I spend the rest of my life with,' she continued. 

'If I didn't know that before this past year, I think I really know it now because with absolutely everything he's just, he's on it. He holds it down,' she added.

'I hope that doesn't sound like I'm bragging, but he's a dream partner to me.'
