Anker’s Solar-Powered Cooler Is a Bonafide Fridge on Wheels

I am a firm believer in bringing everything you need to the party. That includes when the party is being held outside, in the middle of the woods, with no outlets nearby. And look, I understand trying to go off the grid for your sanity, but how else will you keep the vibes going if there isn’t a little battery energy to pull from?

Enter Anker’s new EverFrost 2 Electric Cooler and Solix Solar Umbrella, debuting this week at CES 2025. The gadgetized outdoor party essentials were launched alongside a 140W Display with a charger and a 25,000mAh power bank with a retractable cable. Still, the cooler and umbrella piqued our interest the most. The whole point of these gadgets is to offer power when you’re out and about without remembering to bring reinforcements. Also, the cooler actually cools food, and it’s controlled remotely so that you can monitor the temperature of drinks and food from afar. ,

The EverFrost 2 Electric Cooler comes in 23L, 40L, and 58L sizes, with the larger variant doing the most of the three sizes. The 58L version has two separate compartments that effectively spoof a fridge-on-wheels; one side freezes while the other keeps things chill. Naturally, both are controlled by an app. The electric cooler also includes a fold-down tray with a handle and IPX3 waterproofing.

Two detachable batteries power each of the coolers, which Anker says can provide up to 104 hours of cooling with both packs on at a time. Each battery also serves as a power bank with USB-C and USB-A charging ports if you need to charge a phone or keep a string of lights powered on. The cooler has a 100W solar charger, car socket, and USB-C for recharging. The 40L and 58L will be available in February, with the smaller variant launching later in the year.

The Anker Solix Solar Umbrella is not as exciting as the coolers. It won’t actively cool you down, but it can create shade in the middle of nowhere by virtue of being an umbrella. At the very least, the Solar Umbrella is equipped with 100W output capabilities through both XT-60 and USB-C connection ports, so you can connect various things to it to stay powered up. The umbrella is IP67 waterproof and will be available sometime this summer. No pricing is available for the coolers or the umbrella yet.
