Goku shocked at shrinking in Dragon Ball DAIMA episode 2

Anime on Netflix is thriving lately thanks to key major offerings joining its library, the latest of which being Dragon Ball DAIMA. However, according to Netflix Tudum's Global Top 10 for non-English TV shows from October 21 to October 27, 2024, Dragon Ball DAIMA, Dan Da Dan, and Ranma ½ all feature on the latest confirmed chart. With DAIMA joining the platform and quickly seizing the #2 spot as its first week on the chart, it joins Dan Da Dan which places at #3 and Ranma ½ at #6, each enjoying their third weeks in the top 10 as a major win for anime on Netflix.

Dragon Ball DAIMA recently joined Netflix on October 18, 2024, meaning it didn't need long for the series to catch fire in addition to its streaming home on Crunchyroll. Add to that are the continuously buzzworthy and absurd plot developments of Dan Da Dan and the crowd-pleasing return of Ranma ½ with its remake, in addition to other recent hits to join the platform like Blue Box. Despite relatively lower saturation, anime originals are quickly becoming a worthwhile investment to the streaming giant with Dragon Ball DAIMA as the latest and 10,200,000 hours viewed between these three series alone.

Anime Isn't Just Charting on Netflix but Climbing Rapidly

No Need for Wishes to Shenron

With Dan Da Dan quickly cracking into the Netflix top 10, and its debut recognized by Tudum the following week as the #2 non-English show, Dragon Ball DAIMA doesn't replace any anime currently charting, but rather, expands its presence. The difference between Dragon Ball DAIMA and the latest week's #1 show, Deceitful Love: Limited Series, is approximately a hundred thousand views, which is incredible considering the anime also has a dedicated audience on Crunchyroll. Anime is expanding its presence on Netflix in a big way with the numbers to show it.

Netflix's Anime Future Is Bright Going Into 2025

Sakamoto Days Will Carry Dan Da Dan's Torch in the New Year

When Dan Da Dan concludes its Fall 2024 anime run, Shonen Jump fans won't have to wait long before their next fixation with Sakamoto Days, scheduled for release in January 2025. In addition to the next Weekly Shonen Jump adaptation on top of Fall 2024's Blue Box running through Winter 2025, My Happy Marriage graces the platform with season 2 for shojo fans, as do Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Arc season 2 and the new Devil May Cry series. With video games and manga adaptations alike, Netflix's anime offerings, such as the recent Terminator Zero, have become increasingly bold and well-produced.

The shows exclusive to its platform have grown in production value and overall quality, with massive publishers like Shueisha behind the latest series.

Considering the growing appeal not just of Netflix as an additional streaming home for anime but as an exclusive platform capable of producing series drawing more viewers than Demon Slayer, this is welcome news. The shows exclusive to its platform have grown in production value and overall quality, with massive publishers like Shueisha behind the latest series. Add the WIT Studio-produced One Piece anime remake, and it's clear that Netflix is playing for keeps when it comes to the medium's most trendy series, and with Dragon Ball DAIMA joining the library, it looks to captivate fans of all ages.
