Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper were the chaotic duo we needed to ring in the new year, as they made NSFW jokes during CNN’s New Year’s Eve special.

Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper rang in 2025 with the most chaotic energy.
The Watch What Happens Live host and Anderson Cooper 360 host welcomed the new year with their usual shenanigans on CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live with Andy Cohen & Anderson Cooper. But this year, Andy decided to throw in a surprise roast session.
While Diplo’s helicopter was making him fashionably late for his NYE DJ set, Anderson found himself longing for a lifestyle that warrants such luxurious excuses.
“I want one day to have a lifestyle where somebody says, ‘Oh yeah, he’s late,’” Anderson said on the Dec. 31 CNN special, per a video posted to TikTok. “’His helicopter’s running late.’”
And Andy took this opportunity to absolutely roast his best friend, whose mom was Gloria Vanderbilt of the influential Vanderbilt family.
“Yes, the Vanderbilt boy suffers just like you,” Andy, 54, joked to the audience, “but he doesn’t know about making love to a woman.”
As for how Anderson’s sex life entered the conversation, it all started with Andy asking a simple question about Somebody Somewhere actress Bridget Everett: “Do you want to make love to her?”
“I don’t even know what you’re talking about,” responded Anderson—who came out publicly as gay in 2012—to which Andy said, “You don’t know what it means to make love to a woman? Yeah, you don’t. That has been established on CNN right now.”
And whether it was the tequila talking or the pure joy he got from teasing his bestie, Andy made sure to get this breaking news across.
“He don’t know about that,” the Bravolebrity continued. “If any of y’all had any question about that, he don’t know about that.”
But these two weren’t the only ones that brought the chaos to the New Year’s Eve celebrations. Even Harry Potter star Ralph Fiennes got in on the fun with a segment called “Recitations by Ralph”—and it was very demure.

“See my shirt,” Ralph said, pulling his collar to expose a bit of skin. “Only a little chichi out. Not my chocho.”
And while the Golden Globe nominee continued to make viral TikToker Jools Lebron proud with his impression, Anderson could not contain his laughter.
“Be mindful of why they hired you,” Ralph added. “Here’s a reality check diva. What’s the name you want me to make it out to?”
After all, these meme-worthy moments are what make Andy and Anderson’s New Year’s Eve coverage so iconic. And Andy has confirmed that they love every second of it.
“I get to hang out with one of my best friends and have fun,” he recently told E! News. “I love getting Anderson to have fun, and also feed him shots.”
And it turns out, he was correct in predicting, “Its turning up this year, absolutely.”
