An All-New Predator Is On the Horizon, And the Hunter Will Be the Franchise's Deadliest to Date

2 days ago 5

One of Marvel Comics' most ambitious crossover anthologies has pitted Marvel’s best heroes against the Yautja, the infamous killer aliens from the Predator franchise. First, Wolverine entered a decades-long war with the Yautja. Then, Black Panther stood his own against a Predator with nothing to lose. Now, one of Marvel’s most beloved heroes is coming face-to-face with a different kind of Predator, one who revels in gore and brutality.

As first reported by AIPT Comics, Marvel has revealed new details regarding their next crossover series, Predator vs. Spider-Man. Much like its predecessor series, this limited-run clash of webbing and blood will test every skill Spider-Man has developed when facing the galaxy’s greatest hunters.

A heat wave sends NYC into a blackout and Spider-Man on patrol as tempers boil across the city. But beneath its grimy sewers and subways lurks a threat unlike anything Peter Parker has faced before. Introducing "Skinner," a Predator of no honor and no clan — only a thirst for blood.

However, this Predator is unlike any that have appeared in the Marvel Universe so far. Abandoning the Yautja’s universal code of honor, “Skinner,” the series’ new Predator, craves only blood and viscera from his enemies. This “nightmarish foil to the big-hearted Parker” is about to make Kraven’s Last Hunt look like child’s play.

Marvel Forces Spider-Man To Face A Predator Who Has Abandoned The Yautja's Rigid Code Of Honor

Predator Vs. Spider-Man #1 – Variant Cover Art By Ryan Brown; Available April 23, 2025 From Marvel Comics

Predator Vs. Spider-Man #1 (Variant Cover), Spider-Man and a Predator clash head-to-head.

Spearheaded by veteran Marvel writer Benjamin Percy and artist Marcelo Ferreira, Marvel's upcoming Predator vs. Spider-Man miniseries promises a powerful combination of creative talent, many of whom have already left their mark with the Predator and Spider-Man franchises. Percy, who has written both prior Predator crossovers, has expressed his elation at writing Spider-Man for the first time, as he has become a trusted author at Marvel in the past several years. However, if Wolverine and Black Panther’s battle with the Yautja are any indicators for this new series, Spider-Man is in for a world of pain.

Predators like Skinner, who have abandoned this code, become volatile and unpredictable threats who see no reason to hold back.

The obvious trait that separates this new Predator from the rest is its disregard for the species’ creed. While different clans each establish their own governing laws, there is one prime rule that all Yautja must abide by: Only kill worthy prey. By this, the hunters mean to only hunt prey that can defend themselves. Yautja culture is defined by the hunt; one must face their prey equally to prove their own strength. However, Predators like Skinner, who have abandoned this code, become volatile and unpredictable threats who see no reason to hold back.

Marvel's New "Bad Blood" Yautja Totally Change "Predator" Lore, Managing To Make Them Even More Dangerous

Even Other Predators Hate Them

This deviation away from the species’ cultural norms is strictly taboo and represents something bigger than just honor. Despite the Yautja being portrayed as villains through the viewer’s frame of reference, their society is a familial one. Children are raised by the clan and their skills are taught by their “brothers.” These deviant Predators dubbed “Bad Bloods,” are shamed for their self-centered actions and promptly executed for their crimes when given the chance. To break the code means to disrespect the prey, the hunter, and the entire clan.

Get Ready: Predator and Alien Are Turning the Marvel Universe Into a Bloody Battleground

Marvel has recently introduced both Alien and Predator into its universe, and they've all but taken over, making Marvel the perfect AvP battleground.

With Spider-Man slated to fight a Bad Blood, his opponent will use every resource possible to bring the hero down. Skinner, like many of the Bad Bloods, is a psychotic brute unbridled from something as paltry as ethics. While Spider-Man may be no match for the Predator alone, it looks like he won’t be alone. As author Benjamin Percy noted, Kraven the Hunter will be making an appearance in this run, hopefully to help the Wall-Crawler out. Peter Parker had better be ready to face death, because this Predator is gluttonous for gore.
