All 3 Marvel And DC Movies & TV Shows Releasing On HBO Max In July 2026

HBO Max will become the home of Marvel and DC releases of completely different proportions next month, and fans of the superhero universes will not want to miss them. Looking at HBO Max's library of movies and TV shows, it is true that there are more DC properties than Marvel projects. That is to be expected, given the streamer's origin.

Both HBO Max and DC exist within the larger Warner Bros. Discovery umbrella, which means that new releases from James Gunn's DC Universe and other standalone DC franchises tend to come to the streamer. That said, HBO Max subscribers can also enjoy quite a few Marvel releases on the platform, with plenty of licensed projects based on major characters.

It is through that that viewers will be able to watch one of the biggest characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on HBO Max in two different, but equally exciting ways this July. Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Brand New Day is rumored to feature Jean Grey, and Avengers: Doomsday is confirmed to see the return of many Fox X-Men stars. As such, the X-Men are trending.

That is why the Marvel movies focused on a key mutant before he joined the MCU, one of which is coming to HBO Max, are timely releases. Additionally, DC's biggest hero, Batman, will come back with new adventures on HBO Max in July. Check out what these two high-profile superheroes will be up to on the streaming service below:

3 Deadpool 2 (July 1)

First up is Deadpool 2, the second movie in Ryan Reynolds' trilogy as the Merc With a Mouth and the actor's final appearance in the role before moving over from a standalone corner of the Fox X-Men Universe to the MCU in 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine. Deadpool 2 expanded the franchise by introducing Josh Brolin's Cable, who is on a quest to kill a future threat, currently a teenager, Russell, and Zazie Beetz's luck-powered Domino.

Expect plenty of laughs with Reynolds' impeccable comedic timing, Deadpool's fourth wall-breaking shenanigans, and how the character bounces off the straight man Cable in the movie. Deadpool 2 also introduces a version of the X-Force team from Marvel Comics. The R-rated movie brings back the franchise's signature violent fight sequences, with a time travel element that leads to one of the funniest endings to a Marvel hero's live-action adventure.

2 Deadpool 2: Super Duper Cut (July 1)

Also arriving on July 1 is another way to enjoy Reynolds' second Deadpool movie. Deadpool 2: Super Duper Cut, as its name suggests, is an extended version of the Marvel movie that features additional scenes, alternate sequences, extended action set pieces, new jokes, and even more post-credits scenes. For those who enjoy the grit, blood, and raunchy Deadpool movies with their R rating, the Deadpool 2: Super Duper Cut goes a step above, as it is an unrated take on the character's second film.

Deadpool 2: Super Duper Cut features quite a few new sequences that range from hilarious to surprisingly dark. For instance, fans get to see a suicide montage where Deadpool keeps trying to kill himself in increasingly worse ways after the film's early tragedy. Another new sequence involves none other than baby Hitler, which says a lot about just how far this Deadpool 2 cut is willing to go.

1 Batwheels Season 3D (July 17)

​​​​​​​Finally, the only new DC arrival coming to HBO Max this July could not be more different from the two versions of Deadpool 2 that are being released on the streaming service. Batwheels is an animated DC series for young viewers that mixes elements of Pixar's Cars — talking, sentient vehicles — and DC Comics superheroes. A new batch of episodes, aka Batwheels season 3D, will drop on July 17.

Moon Knight star Ethan Hawke voices Batman in Batwheels. The new season of the DC series has brought in popular heroes like Aquaman, the Flash, and Zatanna, as well as villains like Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and many more. All three Marvel and DC releases are worth watching on HBO Max, and they should keep different parts of the fandom happy in July.
