Adam Blevins began working in the entertainment industry in 2022 as a Staff Writer for Agents of Fandom, where he progressed to Senior Editor and interviewed talent from Marvel Studios, House of the Dragon, and Planet of the Apes. He joined Collider as a News Author in April 2024, was promoted to a Senior position in December 2024, and has written over 3,000 articles for the site, including exclusives relating to Avengers: Doomsday, The Penguin, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, and more. He primarily writes about the latest box office numbers and the hottest movies and TV shows on streaming, while also covering superhero and sci-fi news. He has completed a set visit for The Chosen and even has several months of experience writing Gaming Features at ScreenRant. You can find him on X, LinkedIn, and Muckrack.
Alan Ritchson is best known for his role as Reacher in the hit Prime Video series, but a few years ago, he starred in a massive action blockbuster that has returned to streaming charts. Ritchson features alongside Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, and a host of other stars in Fast X, the 2023 Fast & Furious movie that had quite a complicated production. Fast X is not streaming anywhere in America at the time of writing, but the film has resurfaced in the VOD top 10 on both Apple TV and Google in more than 15 countries around the world.
It’s no coincidence that Fast X is trending upwards on streaming right now, considering the massive announcement that graced fans of the franchise last week. Universal Pictures officially set the eleventh and final Fast & Furious movie, which has been titled Fast Forever, for release on March 17, 2028. The film is expected to begin production any day now, and it will likely film throughout the year, with 2027 being focused strictly on post-production. Universal Pictures is certainly hoping that the budget can be brought down from where it was at Fast X. The 10th installment cost over $340 million to make — it’s one of the 10 most expensive movies ever.
The final Fast & Furious movie will see plenty of stars from Fast X, back, but it’s unclear if Ritchson will reprise his role as Aimes in the film. However, two massive franchise stars, Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson, are expected to return as Deckard Shaw and Luke Hobbs in the film. The duo last worked together on the 2019 F&F offshoot, Hobbs and Shaw, and their inclusion in Fast 11 will undoubtedly help sell theater tickets.
Will There Be Any Other ‘Fast & Furious’ Spin-Offs?
It has yet to be reported or announced if there will be any more Fast & Furious spin-offs after Fast Forever. The eleventh movie will mark the end of the original franchise, but there is hope yet for another Hobbs & Shaw movie. During the press tour for Red One a few years ago, Hobbs & Shaw writer Chris Morgan teased that he was writing another Hobbs & Shaw movie. However, over a year has passed without any update, so the project may be on the back burner if not canceled entirely.
Check out Fast X on VOD platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV and stay tuned to Collider for more streaming updates.
