Chris is a Senior News Writer for Collider. He can be found in an IMAX screen, with his eyes watering and his ears bleeding for his own pleasure. He joined the news team in 2022 and accidentally fell upwards into a senior position despite his best efforts.

For reasons unknown, he enjoys analyzing box office receipts, giant sharks, and has become known as the go-to man for all things BoschMission: Impossible and Christopher Nolan in Collider's news division. Recently, he found himself yeehawing along to the Dutton saga on the Yellowstone Ranch.

He is proficient in sarcasm, wit, Photoshop and working unfeasibly long hours. Amongst his passions sit the likes of the history of the Walt Disney Company, the construction of theme parks, steam trains and binge-watching Gilmore Girls with a coffee that is just hot enough to scald him.

His obsession with the Apple TV+ series Silo is the subject of mockery within the Senior News channel, where his feelings about Taylor Sheridan's work are enough to make his fellow writers roll their eyes.

One of the biggest complaints about modern Star Wars TV has not really been about the stories. It has been about how some of these shows look. For all the tech wizardry behind the Volume, there have been times when Lucasfilm’s Disney+ era has felt a little too boxed in, a little too clean, and a little too obviously shot on a giant stage. That is why this latest Ahsoka Season 2 update feels like genuinely good news. Based on new set images and recent production reports, the series looks like it is finally pulling back from one of its biggest visual problems.

Fresh images shared online from the Ahsoka Season 2 set appear to show a huge exterior build for Peridea in the U.K., surrounded by blue screens rather than being created entirely inside the Volume on a Los Angeles soundstage. One widely circulated description of the set said it looked “HUGE,” with a vehicle in the background helping show the scale of the build. That alone suggests Season 2 is aiming for something bigger and more physical this time around.

When a new actor takes over an existing role, audiences can be wary. On this first day of spring, let's look at some characters who got fresh starts.

Is 'Ahsoka' Worth Watching?

Maggie Lovitt's review stated that Ahsoka leans heavily into existing Star Wars lore, making it a much better experience for longtime fans than for casual viewers. While the series has strong characters and interesting ideas, it doesn’t do much to help newcomers get up to speed. The biggest issue is how connected the show is to The Clone Wars and Rebels. Unlike The Mandalorian, which slowly introduced audiences to the wider universe, Ahsoka assumes you already know key relationships and past events. Important motivations — like the search for Ezra or the threat of Thrawn — don’t get fully explained, which can leave newer viewers feeling a bit lost.

Ahsoka may suffer from the same story issues that The Mandalorian’s most recent season dealt with, but diehard fans may be willing to overlook them if the endgame is a satisfying conclusion for the plotlines established in Rebels and, by extension, The Clone Wars. For casual audiences, Ahsoka may prove to be a series they wait to binge-watch after they fill in the blanks with the animated series (or the aid of Wookieepedia, if they don’t have time for such a big commitment). Still, even with its issues, Ahsoka’s premiere is quite fun and sets up some promising pay-off potential.

Ahsoka Season 2 is in production. Season 1 is streaming now on Disney+.
