EXCLUSIVE: Activist Artists Management has singed Preacher Lawson for representation.

A comedian working since the age of 16, who’s also an actor and creator, Lawson first gained industry recognition after winning the 2016 Seattle Comedy Competition. He further solidified his profile in 2017 as a finalist on Season 12 of America’s Got Talent, before returning in 2019 for America’s Got Talent: The Champions, where he finished in the Top 5. In the years since, he has built a global fanbase through touring, his social media presence, and multiple comedy specials, which have accumulated millions of views. He released his third stand-up special, Keep Preacher Weird, in January.

On the film and television side, Lawson was a series regular on NBC’s Connecting and has appeared on the Emmy-winning Netflix series I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson, as well as HBO’s Emmy-winning A Black Lady Sketch Show.

Raised in a military family and shaped by life on the move, Lawson’s comedy centers on resilience, relationships, and finding humor in chaos — qualities highlighted in his first two specials, Get to Know Me and My Name Is Preacher. Beyond stand-up, he creates digital content, develops film and TV projects, and collaborates with other comedians and creators. He continues to be represented by CAA.
