EXCLUSIVE: AB2 Media Group and Abramorama have acquired North American distribution rights to One More Time, the Telluride world premiere documentary about a trio of well known New York theater players tackling Samuel Beckett’s Endgame, a play they’ve staged multiple times over the decades.
Directed by Cindy Kleine (Phyllis and Harold) and co-directed by film and theater legend André Gregory (My Dinner With André), the film was produced by Kleine and Gregory and executive-produced by Martin Scorsese and Ryan Krivoshey.
In One More Time, co-director Gregory and veteran stage and screen actors Larry Pine (The Royal Tenenbaums) and Gerry Bamman (Home Alone) “gather to rehearse scenes from Samuel Beckett’s post-apocalyptic masterpiece, Endgame, a play they first staged in the 1960s when they were in their twenties and have returned to five times over the years. Now in their eighties and nineties, and despite the physical infirmities of age that impact their ability to perform, they rise to meet the challenge of revisiting this canonical work.”
The film will next screen on October 4th and 5th in the Spotlight section at the New York Film Festival before opening at Film Forum in NYC in February 2027, followed by a North American rollout.
AB2 Media Group is collaborating with the film team and Atlas Theatre Company on the overall rollout of the film, with Abramorama handling the theatrical rights and AB2 advising on sales.
“I’ve spent years capturing André on film,” said director Kleine, “but nothing prepared me for watching him, Larry, and Gerry step back into Endgame together, decades after they first performed it. This is a film about what it means to keep making art, and to keep showing up for each other, no matter what your body tells you. I’m thrilled that Abramorama will help bring this story to audiences across North America.”
“One More Time embodies so much about the sacred nature of life and art, and boldly examines the frailties of aging with great sensitivity,” added Damon G. Smith, SVP Business Growth & Creative Strategy, and Karol Martesko-Fenster, CEO of AB2 Media Group and Abramorama. “It is a process film, a study of friendship and camaraderie across half a century, a love letter to the artistic life, and a unique interrogation of Beckett’s confoundingly beautiful and haunting masterwork for the stage. Cindy Kleine’s one-of-a-kind film is a remarkable achievement that we’re honored to share with North American audiences.”
