ABC's Surprise Hit Argues That It Has The Best Mike Ross TV Replacement 3 Years After Suits Ended

1 week ago 4

Although Suits ended five years ago, it was hard to find a replacement series to fill the Suits-shaped hole in Mike Ross lovers' hearts, but that all changed with the premiere of ABC's new crime drama TV show in the fall of 2024. The USA Network legal drama, created by Aaron Korsh, debuted in 2011 and was a success. Suits ran for nine seasons, a feat that most TV shows don't get to accomplish. However, its achievements expanded when Netflix's addition of Suits to its catalog led to a resurgence of the series.

The popularity of Suits grew tenfold four years after its series finale as new fans discovered and loved it. As a result, NBC ordered a spinoff, Suits: L.A., starring Stephen Amell. Unfortunately, none of the original Suits cast members are set to appear in the spinoff (yet). But while waiting for the release of Suits: L.A., those who loved Mike Ross can watch his female counterpart in a new show on ABC.

High Potential's Morgan Is The Perfect Mike Ross Replacement

Kaitlin Olson's Character Is Very Similar To Patrick J. Adam's Character In Suits

Kaitlin Olson stars as Morgan Gillory in the acclaimed ABC crime drama High Potential, and her character shares many qualities with Suits' Mike Ross. First of all, Morgan and Mike are quite smart (as close as one can get to being a genius). Consequently, they are remarkable assets in their respective fields. Morgan and Mike are also considered outsiders in their work environments — both fulfilling the "fish out of water" trope.

Ultimately, watching Morgan solve murders is as fun as seeing Mike working on cases, making High Potential the perfect replacement for Suits .

While Mike accidentally stumbled into a job interview with Harvey Specter in Suits, Morgan, a nighttime cleaner for the LAPD, helped the police solve a case while cleaning up a crime scene in High Potential. As a result, they both got jobs they weren't initially applying for. Outside their work and minds, though, Morgan and Mike are quirky individuals who often reference pop culture. Ultimately, watching Morgan solve murders is as fun as seeing Mike working on cases, making High Potential the perfect replacement for Suits.

Is Mike Ross Also A High Potential Individual?

Mike's IQ Was Never Disclosed In Suits

Kaitlin Olson's role as Morgan in High Potential is considered a high potential intellectual (HPI), hence the ABC TV show's name. Morgan has an IQ of 160, and if someone has an IQ over 130, they are defined as an HPI. So, by High Potential's standards, Mike can also be characterized as an HPI.

New episodes of High Potential air on Tuesdays at 10 pm ET on ABC. Season 1, which has already concluded filming, will contain 13 episodes.

Suits never revealed Mike's IQ, but many speculate that it must be around 150–160, thanks to his eidetic memory. Since Mike has an eidetic memory, he has the ability to absorb and remember a limitless amount of information, which is why he is a great lawyer right off the bat (even though he didn't graduate from law school). So, those who miss watching Patrick J. Adams' Mike in Suits can tune in to High Potential to see the character's female counterpart.
