Britta DeVore is a Senior Author for Collider who has been known to dabble with Reality News as well.

Have you seen stories about 'Chucky,' 'Scream,' 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' 'The Boys,' 'Vanderpump Rules,' or any of 'The Real Housewives' franchises? That's probably a Britta DeVore-curated piece of art, and it sounds like you have great taste.

When she isn't sitting behind her laptop bringing readers her hot takes on upcoming projects or keeping the dream alive in the Senior News team, Britta can usually be found outside hiking or inside behind her drum set. She currently plays in two bands, Kid Midnight and Watergate, both based in Brooklyn. An obsessive traveler, Britta loves long road trips to the South West and has a soft spot in her heart for canyons, rivers, and forests.

She also has a tiny cat named Athena that she loves more than anything else in the world and is always happy for new brewery recs.

9-1-1 is on fire. But not the bad kind that our favorite group of first responders might get a call to extinguish, but rather the good kind that solidifies the show as a hit well into its ninth season. Now 13 episodes in, the latest installment of ABC’s best procedural has already been given the greenlight for a follow-up, meaning the stories of the hardworking folks at the 118 will move forward into Season 10. To make things all the better for fans of the series, its latest spin-off, 9-1-1: Nashville, also received a renewal, with Season 2 of the Chris O’Donnell-led production expected to arrive with the network’s fall slate.

The last few weeks have been incredibly solid ones for 9-1-1, as audiences continue not just to tune in for the series but engage with the drama that has thrown beloved characters like Angela Bassett’s Athena Grant and Oliver Stark’s Buck through the wringer over the last set of episodes. Just two weeks ago, it was reported that 9-1-1 had broken its own record and landed the highest rated episode in six seasons. According to the numbers on IMDb, the character-heavy installment was the best one to come from the series since the notorious Season 3 episode that saw a tsunami catch the 118 in a chokehold all the way back in 2019.

Episode 13 Was a Standout for Fans

Now, the team has done it again and officially passed a fresh milestone with last night’s episode. The thirteenth installment of the ninth season, “Mother’s Boy,” saw Buck (Stark) and Eddie (Ryan Guzman) embark on a road trip of epic proportions following the long-awaited and much talked-about crossover with 9-1-1: Nashville. The trip — though dotted with a sing-a-long to Kansas’s “Carry on Wayward Son” and the swapping of their favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger flicks — did (in typical 9-1-1 fashion) take a wildly dark turn that saw Buck being kidnapped and Eddie ending up in the hospital.

And yet, audiences still ate it up and left no crumbs, lauding it with a 9.5 on IMDb — the highest rating yet over the show’s nine seasons. This will be a tough one to top considering it’s a near-perfect score and episodes like this one don’t come along very often. But, we’re sure the creative team is taking notes and jotting down just how well viewers respond to the bond between Buck and Eddie.
