8BitDo's Retro 87 Mecha Break: Panther edition hits an all-time low of $59 at Amazon — with Kailh Glaze Jellyfish Pro linear switches for smooth gaming

I've personally been a convert to some of 8BitDo's products over the years, thanks to a combination of design, functionality, and, of course, price. My standout favourite is the retro keyboard range - in my case, the Commodore 64-themed keeb. Today's deal is on 8BitDo's Mecha Break: Panther mechanical keyboard, which is on sale at its record low price of just $59.39, down a respectable 10% from its list price. The Mecha Break: Panther design is an official collaboration with the Mecha Break video game of the same name. Featuring mechs and Gundam-esque suits, the keyboard features design elements to match the vibe.

8Bitdo's keyboard uses a standard TKL layout with the number pad removed, similar to the rest of the Retro 87 keyboard range. The keyboard houses 87 keys with colored translucent keycaps to match the design and styling of the Mecha Break video game. The caps are double-layered ABS keycaps with a matte UV coating, helping to let the incorporated backlit RGB lighting shine through.

The keyboard uses Kailh Glaze Jellyfish Pro linear switches on a hot-swappable PCB, with an aluminum backplate and sound-dampening layers. You can always swap to a preferred switch if the included Kailh Glaze Jellyfish Pro linear switches aren't to your tastes. These linear switches are often preferred by gamers as there is no tactile bump, and they are often quieter switches. The retro 87 range of keyboards also features fantastic battery life, with charges lasting months at a time.

You can use Ultimate Software V2 to customize keyboard mapping and macros, including mapping keyboard functions to the included dual super-buttons. The 8Bitdo Mecha Break: Panther keyboard has triple connectivity, wireless via either a 2.4GHz or Bluetooth connection, or connect via USB-C cable for charge and play use. A handy selector twist switch on the keyboard lets you choose the connection mode you prefer.
