The first full weekend of March is a good one for Prime Video subscribers, as there are quite a few interesting films to watch over the next couple of days, and they offer a nice variety of genres. On last weekend's Prime Video recommendations, I talked about The Bluff, Blacklight, and Black Bag.

This time around, there are no Prime Video Original movies on the list. That is alright, as the streaming service is one of the best in the business when it comes to licensed content. These three options include new arrivals to Prime Video and a classic that is trending in the United States.

3 Sherlock Holmes (2009)

Starting the list is 2009's Sherlock Holmes. This is a movie based on the most iconic detective in fiction that was beloved by critics and became a box office hit. All of that was due to the charisma Robert Downey Jr. brought to the big screen as Sherlock and his sizzling chemistry with Jude Law's poised Dr. John Watson.

Now is the perfect time to watch Sherlock Holmes for the first time or to rewatch the film, as a new Prime Video series has boosted the 2009 entry to become the 9th most-watched movie on Prime Video in the United States. Director Guy Ritchie's Young Sherlock series recently became a Prime Video hit, so watching his Sherlock Holmes movie makes up for the ideal next step.

2 Teen Wolf (1985)

Recently, Dylan O'Brien and Tyler Posey's Teen Wolf series became a hit on Netflix with international audiences. The timing of the show's renewed streaming success is perfect for Prime Video subscribers who want to get in on the fun in some form. On March 1, the original 1985 Teen Wolf movie that started the franchise arrived on Prime Video.

The film is very different from the MTV series, as it has a much lighter tone with emphasis on the comedic aspects of a high-schooler becoming a werewolf, while the series was more interested in supernatural action. Led by Michael J. Fox, the comedy promises to be a breezy watch over the weekend.

1 Shadow Force (2025)

Ending the list is Shadow Force, a divisive action thriller. While the movie ended up becoming a box office flop, grossing a measly $5.3 million against a reported budget of $40 million, Shadow Force presents high-stakes action scenes as a former spy couple, Kerry Washington's Kyrah Owens and Omar Sy's Issac Sarr, is forced to save their son and defeat their old boss.

Shadow Force has divided critics and viewers so far. On Rotten Tomatoes, the action thriller has a negative 30% critics' score. However, Prime Video subscribers should not feel discouraged by that, as the movie's audience score is a strong 82%. Having just arrived on Prime Video on March 6, Shadow Force could be a gem worth discovering.
