To kick off the lineup of presenters at the 98th Oscars executive producer and showrunner Raj Kapoor and executive producer Katy Mullan have announced that all four Academy Award winning actors from last year — Adrien Brody, Kieran Culkin, Mikey Madison and Zoe Saldaña — will be back to hand out awards at the 2026 ceremony.
Though the news does not specify which categories the four performers will be presenting, one can assume that the show will follow the precedent set by last year’s Oscars, where the most recent winner Cillian Murphy presented Best Actor to “The Brutalist” star Brody, Robert Downey Jr. presented Best Supporting Actor to “A Real Pain” star Culkin, Emma Stone presented Best Actress to “Anora” star Mikey Madison, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph presented Best Supporting Actress to “Emilia Pérez” star Zoe Saldaña.
Previously, the presenter tradition was more specific to Best Actor and Best Actress, where the winner of one category presented the Oscar to the winner of the other category the following year. An infamous example of this is when Brody received his first Oscar from Halle Berry one year after her historic Best Actress win.
In more recent years, the Academy has played around with different formats like the Fab Five, where previous winners come out to give a tribute to each nominee before presenting the winner. Various controversies with Best Actor winners in particular have also led to different presenter formats. Though Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress often follow suit with the opposite category presentation tradition, they have had more varied types of presenters over the years.
The producers will continue to announce more talent joining the show in the coming weeks.
The 2026 Oscars will once again be hosted by six-time Emmy winner Conan O’Brien, with the telecast airing live on ABC (and streaming live on Hulu) on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. It will be preceded by the official live red carpet show airing at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT.
