Christopher Nolan is among the world’s most recognized filmmakers. The love for the director is such that The Odyssey tickets are booked well a year in advance. Nolan’s vision for his subject and the way he treats the movie are what attract audiences to his films. The director single-handedly changed the way comic book movies are made with The Dark Knight Trilogy, a moody, dark, practical action-heavy feature with mighty villains challenging Batman at every turn.

After the trilogy, Nolan moved on to the sci-fi genre, making a dream heist movie, Inception, which again stunned fans with its non-conforming, polarizing ending. The internet is full of ending explainers and theories, but the mystery of the Leonardo DiCaprio-led feature remains unresolved. Nolan also made another sci-fi feature that plays with time, Tenet, with John David Washington as the Protagonist. The movie not only suffered from Warner Bros.' pandemic-era release policy but alsoproved too confusing/academic for some audiences. Nonetheless, counted among Nolan’s best sci-fi films is Interstellar, the Matthew McConaughey-led film, which is a visual stunner and has deep philosophies tucked in a neat story.

Set in a dystopian future, Interstellar chronicles the adventures of a group of explorers who use a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations of human space travel and save the remaining population. On the surface, it’s a story of a father (McConaughey) who goes on an interstellar mission in the hope of providing his children a better future, but loses time with them instead. It has deeper themes of love as a force of nature, human tendencies of survival and sacrifice, and time, of course.

Fans still seem to be revisiting the movie as it has resurfaced on free streaming. Interstellar is at #8 on Tubi’s top 10 charts as per FlixPatrol. The movie is loved for its performances, especially by McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, and Anne Hathaway. It also stars Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, John Lithgow, Timothée Chalamet, Casey Affleck, and Michael Caine.
