10 Best New Movies On Hulu In March 2026, Ranked

1 day ago 7

The month of March will see a ton of new movies arriving on Hulu, but which films are the best of the new additions? Like other streamers, there's a lot of turnover on Hulu. TV shows and movies join and leave the streamer's roster, which means viewers need to stay on their toes to make sure they don't miss anything.

Hulu's newest additions have something for everyone, including some brand-new movies that are garnering a lot of award buzz. There are several family-friendly favorites, as well as some flicks sure to stimulate the thinking movie fan. The March lineup on Hulu is quite strong, but these films can't be missed.

All films drop on Hulu on March 1st unless otherwise noted.

10 Sentimental Value (2025) - March 23

2025's Sentimental Value is nominated for eight Oscars, and it has already snatched up a ton of awards. It concerns two sisters who try to repair their relationship with their father as he prepares to direct his big comeback film. Quintessential tragicomedy, Joachim Trier's thoughtful family portrait is nothing like the usual Hollywood blockbusters.

With brilliant performances in all the lead roles, Sentimental Value is a rewarding experience from an artistic standpoint. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but there's no denying it's effective and subtle humor. It falls to the bottom of this list merely because it's unclear exactly how the film will hold up as time goes by.

9 Birdman (2014)

Michael Keaton is taunted by Birdman in Birdman

Made to look like one continuous take, Birdman is a visual experience that's unique to modern cinema. It concerns a washed-up actor who was once famous for playing a superhero as he tries and fails to resurrect his career. Michael Keaton stars (himself known for playing Batman), and gives one of the best performances of his entire career.

Unlike other films built around a gimmick, Birdman has strengths beyond its unique visual component. It has boundless energy and a nerve-wracking suspense that's unusual in dramedy. It's one of the best new movies on Hulu for March, but not the best. While it's a great flick, it hasn't aged as well as some of its contemporaries.

8 Cast Away (2000)

Tom Hanks as Chuck writing on rocks in Cast Away

Tom Hanks has appeared in more than his fair share of rewatchable classics, and Cast Away ranks up near the top. Hanks stars as a FedEx executive who is stranded on an island after his plane crashes. The film chronicles his attempts to survive and escape. The Robert Zemeckis blockbuster is simple in scope but grand in scale.

A tribute to iconic stories like Robinson Crusoe, Cast Away is an old-school adventure film with modern twists. Hanks carries the film on his own, and he runs the gamut from humor to heartbreaking drama all while talking to a volleyball. Cast Away is perfect for streaming, but just falls short of other new additions to Hulu in March.

7 My Cousin Vinny (1992)

Joe Pesci gestures with a smile in My Cousin Vinny

My Cousin Vinny is one of the great comedies of the 1990s, and it has aged like fine wine in the decades since. After being arrested for a murder they didn't commit, two youngsters traveling in the rural South call upon their eccentric cousin to represent them in court. Culture clash stories are common, but rarely are they as funny.

Joe Pesci's bombastic performance in the lead role is iconic, but Marisa Tomei steals the show as his car-savvy girlfriend, Mona Lisa. Besides being an uproarious comedy, My Cousin Vinny is actually a pretty accurate representation of court proceedings. Alas, like almost all comedies, aspects of the film are an acquired taste.

6 Ratatouille (2007)

A crown jewel of Pixar's first 10 feature films, Ratatouille is a food-lover's dream. Remy is a rat who wants to be a chef, and he links up with a hapless cook to astound the culinary world. Ratatouille is a celebration of the world of food, and it explores the topic with Pixar's signature sense of rich emotion.

The character designs are unique and eye-catching, and the film strikes a nice balance between family-friendly sensibilities and appealing to a more mature audience. Though there are almost endless positives about the film, Ratatouille stands out from the rest of the Pixar filmography. It's a bit overshadowed, especially by Pixar's finest works.

5 The Revenant (2015)

The Revenant helped Leonardo DiCaprio secure his Oscar, but it's so much more. DiCaprio stars as a trapper who is betrayed and left for dead in the woods. Using all his wits, he must plot revenge and a way to survive the elements. The film is a gritty thrill ride from start to finish, and DiCaprio's performance is raw.

Eschewing Hollywood gloss, The Revenant is a test of will for the character and the audience. Few survival films are as effective, and that's due in large part to DiCaprio's acting. It's certainly a must-watch for dedicated film fans, but it does fall down the list a bit because it can be a little too harrowing for some viewers.

4 Finding Nemo (2003)

Crush in Finding Nemo

Yet another classic Pixar film coming to the platform in March, Finding Nemo is an all-time animated gem. A precocious young clown fish is kidnapped, and his timid father must go on an epic quest to rescue him. Though the film is set in the ocean and stars fish, Finding Nemo has numerous lessons for families.

The film is really where Pixar found their formula, but things are far from stale. Each character crackles with life, and the visual splendor of the underwater world is some of the studio's best technical work. Finding Nemo is a flawless movie, but it falls just short of another Pixar classic joining Hulu this month.

3 Toy Story (1995)

Woody and Buzz smile at the camera in Toy Story

Toy Story isn't just a great movie, it's also a watershed moment in the history of animation. Pixar's first feature-length animated film concerns a cowboy toy named Woody who grows jealous of his owner's newest plaything, the action figure named Buzz Lightyear. Technical marvels aside, the story is where the film really shines.

Tom Hanks and Tim Allen lead a strong voice cast, and it's their performances that lend a lot of credibility to Pixar's gamble. What's most astounding about Toy Story is how complete the film feels, despite being the first of its kind. It remains a classic over 30 years later, and is required viewing for every kind of film fan.

2 Dead Poets Society (1989)

Robin Williams was one of the most sincere performers in history, and that was never clearer than in Dead Poets Society. Williams plays an English teacher at a preppy boarding school and instructs his students how to truly enjoy life. He's joined by a litany of young stars, many of whom would go on to have great careers.

There are feel-good movies, and then there's Dead Poets Society. It gives Williams free-reign in the lead role, and he acts as instructor to both his students and the audience. Now that the film has come to Hulu, it can be introduced to a new generation of viewers. It's one of those films that changes someone who is open to its message.

1 Fight Club (1999)

Edward Norton and Brad Pitt talk in Fight Club

Shifting gears completely from the previous film, Fight Club is a cynical dissection of the soullessness of 1990s culture. It concerns a depressed man who meets a rebellious soap salesman, and his life soon begins to fall apart. Edward Norton and Brad Pitt star, and both turn in powerhouse performances.

David Fincher's masterpiece is quintessential late 1990s storytelling, with every detail specifically crafted to buck the status quo. While some of that might seem quaint by today's standards, Fight Club remains an important piece of mainstream cinema. For all those reasons and more, it's the best new movie that's on Hulu this month.
