1 Year After Season 2's End, Solo Leveling Is Ready To Break Another Major Anime Record

3 weeks ago 14

With the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026 coming up, it's hard not to think of Solo Leveling and the series' momentous win across multiple categories the previous year. Of course, this time around too, Season 2 of Solo Leveling has received an overwhelming amount of nominations at the Anime Awards.

These include Best Continuing Series, Best Animation, Best Action Anime, Best Anime Main Character, Best Anime Song, Best Anime Score, and many more. In all, Season 2 of Solo Leveling has been nominated in ten different categories at the Anime Awards, and yet, even with ten accolades on the horizon, the series has also quietly set its sights on an unofficial record.

Solo Leveling Is About To Make Crunchyroll History

Even though an entire year has passed since Season 2 of Solo Leveling aired its final episode, the hype surrounding the series seemingly refuses to die down. Even though there has been no concrete confirmation or official announcement about Season 3, Solo Leveling's anime continues to bring in viewership, and now, the series is close to setting a new, never-before-seen record on Crunchyroll.

The Ultimate Solo Leveling Killer Teases 2027 Anime, And It Could Be Huge

While fans wait for an update on Season 3 of Solo Leveling, its biggest rival, Omniscienmt Reader, has locked down a 2027 anime release.

Solo Leveling is on its way to becoming the first anime with 1 million ratings on Crunchyroll. Currently, the anime is sitting at 997 thousand ratings with an average score of 4.9/5 stars. This number is increasing by the hour as the series' loyal, enthusiastic fanbase flocks to the platform to help the series achieve this milestone. As such, it's only a matter of time until the series' ratings cross the 1 million threshold.

Even so, Solo Leveling has already set a soft record by becoming the first anime on the platform to cross 900 thousand ratings. And, even more impressively, trailing close behind it is One Piece with 816 thousand ratings, followed by Jujutsu Kaisen with 783 thousand, and lastly, Demon Slayer with 745 thousand ratings. Despite these three series also being considered global mega-hits, Solo Leveling is evidently in a class of its own as far as pure hype is concerned.

Solo Leveling Is Truly Crunchyroll's Most Hyped Anime

All that said, these numbers suggest Solo Leveling might just be Crunchyroll's most-watched anime, if not its most hyped. Until now, the series' popularity was a given, but this record certainly puts things into perspective like never before. It is quite impressive that Solo Leveling has been able to create so much hype with only two seasons and surpass giants like One Piece and Demon Slayer.

However, this also raises the question of why Season 3 of Solo Leveling has been delayed for so long. Both Crunchyroll and A-1 Pictures have been very tight-lipped when it comes to Solo Leveling's future. Even so, it seems like the Solo Leveling's fanbase is still thriving and eager to see the series make history.

Solo Leveling will very likely also be taking home multiple awards from the Anime Awards, and hopefully, all this love from fans urges the series' creators to hurry up with the updates on Season 3.
