1 MCU Star's Future Team Dream Is Perfect For The Marvel Story I Need To Be Told

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Agatha All Along.

Sasheer Zamata has suggested how she wants Jennifer Kale to return to the MCU after Agatha All Along, and I'm excited to see which wild new stories this could set up. Saturday Night Live veteran Sasheer Zamata was one of my favorite additions in Agatha All Along's incredible cast. Zamata played a race-swapped version of Marvel Comics' Jennifer Kale, a supremely powerful sorcerer who made her first appearance back in 1972's Adventure into Fear #11. I'm very excited about Jennifer Kale in the MCU, and I reckon I know what the future holds for the formidable witch.

Jennifer Kale was recruited by Agatha Harkness and Billy Maximoff for their journey down the Witches' Road with the promise of getting her power back. Kale was bound under mysterious circumstances during the 1920s, ridding her of her magic, though I loved that Agatha All Along still showed us the full breadth of her knowledge and witchcraft skills. Jennifer Kale survived the Witches' Road, which makes me hopeful that she'll return in the MCU's future, and Sasheer Zamata has already hinted at what the future could hold.

Jennifer Kale Survived The Witches’ Road In Agatha All Along

Jennifer Kale Got Her Power Back On The Witches' Road

Agatha All Along's finale revealed that the Witches' Road was a false reality inadvertently created from the mind and untapped power of Billy Maximoff's Wiccan. Even so, the trials on the Witches' Road and the consequences that followed each one were very real, as we saw via the heartbreaking deaths of Sharon Davis, Alice Wu-Gulliver and Lilia Calderu. While the Witches' Road is a fallacy originally created by Agatha Harkness centuries ago, Jennifer Kale surely believes the Road is real, as it gave her exactly what she wanted and allowed her to live.

Agatha All Along's finale proved that two emotional deaths from Phase 5's WandaVision spinoff series could have been averted.

The final trial on the Witches' Road saw Jennifer Kale learn that it was Agatha Harkness who bound her a century ago. This allowed her to break the binding spell, regaining her power. We saw Billy Maximoff then subconsciously let Jen off the Witches' Road, where she climbed out of the ground and flew off to locations unknown. I find it funny that Jen thinks the Witches' Road is real, and will likely tell others of her experience, spreading the legend even further, but the fact she got her power back makes her MCU future even more exciting.

Jennifer Kale’s Survival Makes Ghost Rider’s MCU Debut Easier

Johnny Blaze's Ghost Rider sat down in Marvel Comics

The fact that Jennifer Kale survived the Witches' Road and will likely return in the MCU's future means that Marvel Studios has a very easy way to now explain Johnny Blaze's debut as Ghost Rider. While helping Danny Ketch and Johnny Blaze in the 1990s, Jen learned she is the cousin of these powerful Ghost Riders, descended from Noble Kale, the Ghost Rider of the 17th Century. Ghost Rider is one of my favorite Marvel characters, primarily because of the lore surrounding the Spirit of Vengeance, so I'd love to see this brought into the MCU.

Different versions of Ghost Rider have been portrayed in live-action several times in Marvel's movie and TV history, most notably Nicholas Cage's Johnny Blaze in Ghost Rider and its sequel and Gabriel Luna's Robbie Reyes in Agents of SHIELD .

It's been heavily theorized that Marvel Studios will soon be debuting Ghost Rider in the MCU, and the likes of Norman Reedus, Ryan Gosling and Keanu Reeves, among others, have been fan-cast in the role. I would love to see Sasheer Zamata's Jennifer Kale return in this speculated Ghost Rider project, continuing her story after the finale of Agatha All Along while paving a new path for herself away from her coven. This could quickly connect Ghost Rider to the wider world of the MCU, allowing this antihero's debut to make much more sense.

I’d Love To See Jennifer Kale In The MCU’s Midnight Sons Team

Jennifer Kale Was A Member Of One Midnight Sons Team In Marvel Comics

Midnight Sons teaming up in Marvel Comics

Since I am very hopeful that Jennifer Kale will be appearing alongside Ghost Rider in his possible solo project, it makes sense that she could also become a member of the upcoming Midnight Sons team in the MCU. Now that Jennifer Kale has her power back after her experience on the Witches' Road, the witch is one of the most exciting and powerful new supernatural characters in the MCU, so I would love for her to join the Midnight Sons. There is a clear precedent in Marvel Comics for this to happen.

A project focused on the Midnight Sons hasn't yet been confirmed by Marvel Studios, but I'm one of many who think this project is all but inevitable. Many supernatural heroes and antiheroes have been introduced to the MCU in recent years, and I would love to see them band together as the Midnight Sons, perhaps with Doctor Strange and Blade as the team's leaders. Jennifer Kale was a member of the Midnight Sons in 2009's Marvel Zombies 4 series in Marvel Comics, so I would be thrilled to see her included in the MCU's live-action line-up.

Jennifer Kale’s Return Can Connect To Another Missing MCU Character

Marvel Comics' Jennifer Kale Has A Connection To Man-Thing

Man-Thing with red eyes in Werewolf by Night

Born into the Kale family of sorcerers from the Florida Everglades, Jennifer Kale became an apprentice of Dakimh the Enchanter in Marvel Comics, and along with her mentor, became an ally to Man-Thing. Man-Thing is the protector of the Nexus of All Realities, playing a huge role in the development of Marvel's multiverse, which meant that Man-Thing's live-action appearance in the Multiverse Saga's Werewolf by Night Special Presentation made sense to me. I really want Jen's connection to Man-Thing in Marvel Comics to be explored in the MCU.

WandaVision and Loki set up an important MCU storyline that hasn't yet been paid off, perhaps the debut of Man-Thing will pick up where they left off.

Werewolf by Night introduced Man-Thing in 2022, but we haven't seen the unusual character since then. Jennifer Kale's survival on the Witches' Road and possible upcoming return to the MCU would create the perfect opportunity for Man-Thing to also be brought back. 2006's Thunderbolts #154 brought Man-Thing and Jennifer Kale in contact with the titular team, so I'd love to see Man-Thing and Jennifer Kale appear in the MCU's Thunderbolts* movie, expanding on the Nexus of All Realities and developing Sasheer Zamata's exciting new supernatural hero after Agatha All Along.
