Zoë Winters (Succession), Tony Macht (Dying for Sex) Ravi V. Patel (Animal Control) and Will Yun Lee (The Good Doctor) have been tapped for major recurring roles in The Off Weeks, Apple TV‘s eight-episode limited series starring and executive produced by Jessica Chastain and Ben Stiller, from director Michael Showalter, showrunner Alissa Nutting and Apple Studios.
In The Off Weeks, when divorce throws writing professor Gus Adler’s (Stiller) life into chaos, he struggles to hold things together during “on weeks” when he has custody of his kids. But in his “off weeks,” he’s falling dangerously in love with Stella West (Chastain), a mysterious woman whose arrival puts Gus’ on-week duties and off-weeks ambitions on a fatal collision course.
Winters will play Gus’ ex-wife, Jenny; Macht portrays Kel, Gus’ teaching assistant; Patel will play Drew, Gus’ friend and Lee will portray Willy,’ Jenny’s new boyfriend.
They join previously cast Arian Moayed, Annaleigh Ashford, Richard Gere and John Cho.
Nutting serves as showrunner and executive produces alongside Stiller and John Lesher for Red Hour, Chastain and Kelly Carmichael for Freckle Films, Showalter and Jordana Mollick for Semi-Formal Productions, as well as Paul Lee and Gabriel Fisher for wiip. Peter Principato, Allen Fischer and Brian Steinberg executive produce for Artists First. Dean Bakopoulos (Made for Love) also serves as executive producer. Apple Studios is the studio.
Known best for her breakout role as Kerry on Succession, Winters was most recently seen in A24’s The Materialists, opposite Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans. She’ll next be seen in FX’s 7 Sisters, alongside Elizabeth Olsen and Cristin Milioti, and in A24’s The Drama opposite Robert Pattinson and Zendaya. She’s repped by WME and Anonymous Content.
Macht is currently in Broadway’s Tony-winning, Oh, Mary! and recurs in the FX limited series, Dying For Sex. He recently appeared in Netflix’s Black Rabbit and appears opposite Stiller in upcoming Focker In-Law, the latest film in the Meet the Parents franchise. Patel stars opposite Joel McHale in Fox comedy Animal Control, which was recently renewed for a fourth season. On the unscripted side, Patel appeared in Fox’s Lego Masters Jr. and will be seen in Season 4 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. 2025 marked the 10th anniversary of his groundbreaking docu-style comedy Meet the Patels. Lee, best known for his six-season run as Dr. Alex Park on ABC’s The Good Doctor, will next be seen on film opposite Matt Damon in the highly anticipated The Odyssey, directed by Christopher Nolan.
